Hello!
Any advice on even where to start regarding diagnosis? I went to my gyno about PN symptoms, and have a history of chronic si joint issues. Unfortunately my gyno is more an endometriosis guy, and recommended a laparoscopy to look for endo, but otherwise he just referred me to PT and prescribed valium/baclofen suppositories because I guess my pelvic floor is very tight. I did one session of PT and she said it could be PN, and my pelvic floor could be pushing on the nerve/irritating it.
So I guess my question is where do I go from here? How do I find a doctor for official diagnosis or start treatment? Does anyone have any doctor recommendations in or around Arizona that I can go see for diagnosis and possibly start Botox or nerve blocks? All I know is Dr. Hibner, but I don’t want to see him unless I need surgery, and I’m assuming I would only see him if I had an official diagnosis. I see posts here and Reddit of all the treatment people have received, but I don’t even know where to start/who to start with.
Where do I go from here? Any and all advice would be GREATLY appreciated. I’m so stressed and worried about my job and would also need a letter from a doctor to be switched to lite duty (I’m a vet tech so the bending over, lifting heavy animals, and getting pulled around everywhere is doing quite a number on me.)
Please help
Hello! New and lost on where to go.
Re: Hello! New and lost on where to go.
Dr. Hibner can help you with a diagnosis. He won't necessarily recommend surgery without trying some other things first, unless he thinks you have a nerve entrapment that needs to be treated surgically. He can do nerve blocks which can be helpful in determining a diagnosis. He also does Botox injections. I suspect he would be able to give you a letter for your job.
Does your PT think it would be worth it to try a few sessions of PT?

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
