Hi,
So it’s been past 3 months with PN & chronic constipation , bowel happens only when I take laxative which again is watery.
Urination is twice a day and I drink lot of water
I have a high fiber diet but no help.
So Has any one recovered from obstipation & urine hesitancy conservatively
I saw a video by bollens saying that obstipation is sign of nerve entrapment hence scared & I was about to travel to another country but want to keep my expectations realistic.
So is it still possible for me to recover conservatively or surgery is the only path
Can PN with obstipation cured conservatively?
Re: Can PN with obstipation cured conservatively?
If you can manage your constipation symptoms and still have a good life with conservative measures, I think conservative treatment makes sense. I'm not sure surgery is going to cure constipation. I have to eat a high fiber diet, and take magnesium citrate even though I've had PNE surgery. If your symptoms are severe and you have a definitive diagnosis of pudendal nerve entrapment that is damaging the pudendal nerve, then it might make sense to try PNE surgery but there are other reasons besides PNE for having constipation.
You said you have PN. What other symptoms do you have besides constipation?

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Sounds like your symptoms are pretty difficult to deal with. I tried some conservative treatments before surgery, but they didn't work for me. I think it is reasonable to try conservative treatments like physical therapy and lifestyle changes before going to surgery, but you will know fairly soon whether it's helping or not.
