Pudendal Neuraliga

About 3 months ago, at the end of June I first contacted the Sayer Clinic to book an appointment. This had followed 2 months of being in a lot of discomfort and pain firstly and at the same time a lot of distress as I didn’t know what was wrong with me, what I was fighting and whether there would be any hope.

I tried various treatments from 3 GP’s at the practice local to me none of which worked, none of which were actually applicable. They misdiagnosed me and although eventually they made a referral it was to a urologist and I dont suspect they will be able to offer much help. Frankly they really didn’t have a clue.

After doing some of my own research I believed that perhaps Pudendal Neuraliga might be the cause of the issues I was experiencing.

To that end I contacted the Sayer clinic and booked my first appointment with Madalina Grigore on the 27th June for physio treatment and a further 4 appointments with her followed until the end of July. Over this period of time I also had 7 Chiropractor appointments with Dr Ed Timmings. This is I believe a really important point, both treatments go hand to hand and there is no point just having one and not the other.
So my advice is don’t cut any corner and do both!

The Sayer clinic use a combination of neuro-musculoskeletal pelvic manipulation, physical therapy and postural rehabilitation to help people suffering with Pudendal issues.

Initially in July I noticed some improvement even in fact after my first appointment with Madalina, however the scale of improvement was much greater still over August and furthermore a lot more over this last month (September 2023).

I’m indebted to them both for making me better; physically and mentally I was not in a good place at the end of June and had endured two months of absolute hell.

I’m also grateful that as well helping to make me better and as far as I can see curing me of my issue(s), I now have a better understanding of the importance of good posture, maintaining that, stretches, how to sit down, stand up etc.

I will be following up with Ed in late November and thereafter plan to have 3-4 (or whatever is applicable) chiropractor visits a year just to make sure everything is aligned as it should be.

Finally whilst I never have had the pleasure of meeting him I’d also like to thank Dr. Michael Durtnall for setting up the Sayer clinic and for the training he gave to Madalina. If it wasn’t for him and his clinic and his wonderful staff I wouldn’t I suspect be writing this today and I would still be in discomfort and distress and searching for answers.

Thanks for the info, what were your issues and how are you now? And how much did the treatment cost?

I don’t want to describe the exact nature of the issues, however the type of pain and discomfort associated with Pudendal Neuralgia is well documented.

I’m a lot better now and in good health thanks and I spent just over £1,000 over a 3 month period.

The Sayer clinic are the best and I was very fortunate as I live in London, so the cost of travel wasn’t anything to worry about.

That said the cost of treatment isn’t cheap but it’s the best money I’ve ever spent. Worth every penny. My health and life in May and June was unbearable.

Hello, was just wondering if you could offer an update as to how things are now? Has the improvement you gained been maintained in the last few months? I'm booked in to see Maria-Madalina Grigore, but just for a one off appointment to glean as much as I can. I live in North Yorkshire so unfortunately regular appointments with her would be impossible in terms of time and money. I'm hoping a local pelvic specialist physio will be able to continue what she starts.
