Has anyone had surgery for both vaginal and rectal prolapse surgery and what was your outcome?
Did your PNE pain worsen or better?
Vaginal and rectal
Re: Vaginal and rectal
I had surgery to repair a posterior rectocele and uterine prolapse. The surgery did not make my pudendal neuralgia worse or better but other symptoms I had were much improved by the surgery (constipation, feelings of vagina dropping, pressure, and looseness).
IC 2004. PGAD 2010. Left-side vulva&clitoris deep aching pain & arousal. Left lower ab pain/tugging. Orgasm feels like ACID. Bladder soreness, frequency, urgency only when PGAD flares. I'm flaring most of the time these days
2020 Pelvic Floor therapy (didn't help).
2023 Prolapse surgery. More PT (sometimes helped, sometimes made things worse).
May2024: Trigger point injections (lidocaine & hydrocortisone). Gabapentin.Cymbalta.

Re: Vaginal and rectal
I've had a rectal prolapse and my doctor was my saviour, I don't know if it was luck of God on his side, but he saved my ass that day, literally.
Post - surgery pain was a quite a bit to take in, I had a burning sensation and discomfort for a few days but since the discomfort was becoming lesser and lesser and apparently I was one of the lucky few that their PNE improved after the surgery, thank God
