Pain pump??
Has anyone or do you know anyone that was so scared to have surgery that they tried a pain pump for the entrapments

Yes, I only know of one person who had good luck with it. Do you know what the pros and cons are?
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

You're seeing Hibner next month, right? You may want to discuss this with him. I do know he offers it as a treatment option.

Ultra Sound in 03/08 showed severely retroverted, detaching uterus with mulitple fibroids and ovarian cysts.
Pressure and pain in lower abdomen and groin area was unspeakable and devastating.
Total lap hysterectomy in 06/08, but damage was already done.
EMG testing in NH in 04/10 - bilateral PN and Ilioinguals
3T MRI at HSS, NY in 09/10
Bilateral TG surgery with Dr. Conway on 03/29/11. Bilat ilioinguinal & iliohypogastric neurectomy 03/12. TCD surgery 04/14.

Idk just know that we are scared of surgery and bvring in more pain and not knowing if its going to work I'm in so much pain now I have no life maybe a pump will give me a life not having to know if surgery is going to work or not. I'm curious too about an epidural if that would help me. Idk Just know that me and Dan left Dr potters office crying cause she told us its a chance u have to take and she was honest with us that yes it can make the pain worse

I had 6 epidurals but all they did was waste time and money; it's also risky to the spine to do them all the time so they really are not a good strategy.
Try not to feel like you are alone in this. None of us went into any treatment knowing for sure if it would work or not. We all want that knowledge, but it's not something any of us can have. Not me, not you, not him or her. You were being told the truth and that is always a good thing. For what it's worth, most people don't get worse from surgery, but many people do get better.
I don't know of anybody who found that a pain pump was an answer.

PNE as a result of childbirth, 2002. Treatment by the Houston team, with neurosurgery by Dr. Ansell in 2004. My left side ST and SS ligaments were found to be grown together, encasing the pudendal nerve.
I am cured. I hope you will be, too.
There are no medical answers on the forum. Your only hope is to go to a doctor. I was very happy with the Houston team, which has treated the most PNE patients (well over 400), more than any other US provider.

I'm curious - if you're so opposed to surgery, WHY are you hauling your cookies to AZ to see Dr. Hibner? You can discuss pain pumps, epidurals, SCS's with Dr. Quesada. If you're not open to surgery, pain management is pretty much what you've got left. Please enlighten me ...

I agree with Karyn - if you don't think surgery is an option, pain management doctors might be your avenue of choice. If someone told me right now that I could be helped by surgery, I'd help them hold the knife! In fact, about ready to do that to myself anyway!
Re: epidurals - I recently had a combination of S2/S3/S4 epidural and pudendal nerve injection. Only magnified my existing symptoms at least twofold and now I also have a sore sacrum from the epidural and a sore left glute from where he got too close to the sciatic nerve bundle. The only injections I think I would further consider right now is if I could find a pain doctor that would do it directly into the dorsal nerve to the clitoris or the small nerves to the rectum. Haven't found one yet...
