Severing tendon of coccygeus muscle
Severing tendon of coccygeus muscle
After years of being told I had an issue with terminal branches, I underwent a selective pudendal neurectomy in NH. It didn’t work. I have one local doctor who specializes in laparoscopic endometriosis surgery who says he has done pudendal decompression but only on trauma cases. He initially said he would sever my pudendal nerve. When I said no, I was after decompression, he said he would do that by transecting my tendon of coccygeus muscle to create room behind the nerve. He said my pelvis will feel different afterwards; not painful but different. I have searched high and low and can’t find even one mention of this tendon being severed in a decompression surgery. I signed the consent for surgery (4-12 months expected wait) but alarm bells are going off for me. Is this a normal process for decompression? I’m in Canada.

I would not go to anyone unless they have plenty of experience with this type of decompression surgery
