I am so glad the DRG stimulation worked for so many of you. It did not work for me. As hard as I tried, I was unable to get relief from it. I'm thankful several have had such great success.
It is almost 3:00am Tuesday morning. I can't sleep due to pain. I have taken the allotted amount of pain medication and neurontin. I hurt so much I can hardly stand to take the next step. I had a steroid injection last Thursday. Does anyone know anything I can add to the pelvic floor specialist and exercise? Please. please, help.

I am so glad so many have had success with the DRG. I so wish it had worked for me. My main problem is rectal and that does seem to be the part that is least helped by the stimulater from what I have read. I won't try another for a while. I have tried three now. The first two were the older ones and the parestheia was so bad on them I couldn't use either of those either.
My leads were placed at D-2 and D-3.

Why didn't it work for me.. Well It didn't so I have to go on... went to the pain clinic yesterday, they talked me into trying a new pump. it is a FLOWONIX pROMETRA II.. Supposed to be much better22222 I still am hesitant about it.It seems from what I understood them to say yesterday that they didn't want to chart my problems because of insurance.. why would I want another pump if the last one didn't work. NONSENSE.
So I will be having the SCS and also the pump if I decide to go ahead with it.. I am back to square1 after almost 12 years of this hell. BUt carry on we will .. Ellie

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear these treatments didn't work for you ladies. I wonder how they decide where to place the leads for the DRG, or the catheter for the pain pump. The PN comes from S2,3, and 4 so if they covered S4,5 with the DRG leads, it seems like they missed part of it. With pain pumps, some of the people who have described success with them have stated that the doctor moved it around and experimented with where it helped the most.

Well, Ellie, you certainly have an amazing attitude to keep fighting!

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

The doctors at the pain clinic associated with Brigham and Women’s in Mass use lead placement s2and L 1. I will be doing this trial next week with the drg. If this works it will seriously be an answer to a twenty four year prayer. It will be my personal miracle!

Curious how you both are doing with the s3, s3, s4 lead placements?

Hi Ellie,

That is great! Thank you for the info! It sounds wonderful. I haven't heard of this before. I just googled it, and I see there's all kinds of info on the web about it. So you just ordered it online? Have you talked to a doctor about this?
