Yes, it can still heal. I remember one forum member, a woman, who had successful PNE surgery after 15 years of pain.

New here. Desperate. Hoping for help
Re: New here. Desperate. Hoping for help
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Can you go to a physical therapist in your area who specializes in treating pelvic disorders? This was the SINGLE most beneficial thing I did to overcome my pudendal neuralgia episode. I was in physical therapy for almost two years, and please believe me it helped. You must be able to learn to relax the pelvic floor muscles as well as work through any knotted up areas. You will get your health back, I know it's painful, it's hard, people don't understand it so you feel alone but you are not and you will get better. It is just going to take time.

I read a lot about that and thought about it !althoff17 wrote:Can you go to a physical therapist in your area who specializes in treating pelvic disorders? What you say makes a lot of sense, because i mostly recognize the pain/stitching/prickling when i make movements in my bed or in the bathtub. It feels like unrelaxed muscles / muscular tissue.
What I tried next ist to do a bit crosstraining and go running, to relax the muscels or loosen the muscular tissue there - but it doensn't changed. So i thought the problem is not the unrelaxed pelvic floor muscles...
Do you think i can't measure that based on this fact ? Because of this fact i thought that physiotherapy wouldn't help either ..
The next problem i had is i didn't know what i exactly should do - there are:
1. Pohl therapy - where we got 2 people near here, but nobody answered on my mail
2. Rolfing therapy - there are a few in my area i could call !
3. A normal physiotherapie where somebody is specialised on pelvic floor or neuralgia
Also i try to stretch sometimes and do pelvic floor exercises from youtube - but i talked to another PN patient and she said in her case it's better doing nothing because her nerve is damaged on a few places.
But if you read my story you will see that it is probably not damaged, i think it's everything unrelaxed - like you said! Do you think i should keep doing things? Because mostly i lay around or sit on a seat ring, so maybe the muscles harden and the muscular tissue because of the lack of movements
What really helped are warm baths and a heat pillow which i put between my legs when i lay around - so i think the heat realax the muscular tissue and based on this fact physiotherapie would be maybe the right thing..
Thank you for your info !
Re: Phoenix-Hibner
Get help. Michael Hibner M.D. is very good. John Hopkins Hospital and Emory are advanced. I went to France in 2002 - not done in USA. We are advanced now - very. Look at the list of doctor/help on this site. Carlie
