Meds question: Post your Meds/% Pain Relief/Side Effects
Spurred by some of the other discussions here, I'd like to hear from everyone what meds they are currently on (medication/dosage amount), percentage of pain relief they get (or their pain levels, whichever you prefer to list) and side effects (brain fog, blurred vision, constipation, weight gain (if so, how much), etc.
Re: Meds question: Post your Meds/% Pain Relief/Side Effects
I am currently on 2400mg Neurontin daily (800 three times a day). I have widespread myofascial pain that has developed due to the PN pain and I think the Neurontin has really helped this. I went from not being able to hardly get off the couch and having headaches to functioning again (at a lower level). I would say most days my pain is around a level 3-4 if I don't sit (I really can't tolerate sitting, even on a cushion, other than to drive very short distances) or do anything else to flare me up (i.e. intercourse, stretching too much, a lot of bending/lifting, or heavy housework). The highest I have ever rated my pain is like an 8-9 (because I reserve 10 for things like childbirth) So % pain relief I guess would be about 50% but I am still not living a normal life by any means. I really don't have any side effects on the Neurontin other than maybe some memory issues (I seem more forgetful), but nothing bad enough to make me stop using it. I am ready to increase to a higher dose, but my doctor thinks I probably need to switch to Lryica if I am not getting better pain relief at this high dose of Neurontin. I am nervous about switching to Lyrica though because of all the side effects.
