Kathy,

You can get tempurpedic pillows at mattress stores. Or you can just get memory foam cushions at places like walmart or target but I don't know how they compare.

Violet
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

I don't know whether it will be of any help to Kathy, but I've had some experience of both memory foam and Tempurpedic. Tempurpedic tends to be a firmer and denser foam compared with cheaper imitations and lasts longer than the cheaper imitations usually do. My mattress is Tempurepedic and I found it a little bit too firm for my fibromyalgia, so I bought a 2" thick softer memory foam topper to go on top; memory foam comes in various densities and qualities, so it's best to ask for samples or, if you can, go to a store to feel them and try them out, i.e. whether you're shopping for a mattress or mattress topper or for memory foam cushions or pillows. In my experience cheap memory foam doesn't contour to your shape as well as the Tempurpedic or better quality memory foams do.

Best,

Thanks Violet and Dusty,
I have a Temperpedic type bed and love it.. I may buy more foam to help us make my cushions a bit better...always trying to perfect them a bit more

I also place a product called "Sit Relief" pants (made by a company called" Lipowear. under my butt and that helps me to lie down with minimal pain, depending on the day, as I believe my pain ebbs and flows due to how stressful my day is and my fear levels.)
My PT agrees wholeheartedly.

About Lipo -Wear it was invented by a man, who I believe was suffering from muscle wasting from A.I.D.s ...and needed padding in that area to make sitting more comfortable.
I used to wear them under my clothes, and was able to sit a few years ago but as time went by my pain increased and they weren't enough ..
However now they make a great buffer between me and the surface of the bed, sofa etc.

Hope they can be useful to someone.

Hi Folks
I just happened to see our posts from last year etc, regarding cushions.
Im still trying to find or create a cushion that will allow me to drive without severe pain .
I use a cheap "tush cush", sometimes with another cushion under it if I dine out in restaurants.. something Ive done since early 2015, after working with my helpful PT. I kneel on them, as I still can't sit directly yet.

My bed is a memory foam (not the Temperpedic brand name) but a similar copy, and very comfortable to lie on, but I still need to buffer my anal pain spot by putting my Lipo-ware sit pants under neath...They provide a thin layer and prevent pain. ( I don't need to wear them, just lie on top).
Anyone know what type of foam "Thickness wise" could be used to make a car cushion for a lady my size?
I have some at home, that I'd love to try, but it's part of a mattress my son needs for his college room, so I can't cut it up..
I must buy some foam.
I know we are all different, but just wondering what thickness would work for me.. I feel like the princess and the Pea character as
the area is so sensitive.

I now weigh about 126lbs at about 5'6 tall. with most of my weight in the butt and hips
Is there a cushion thickness that works for someone my size with throbbing anal-rectal pain? The idea is that the area not touch or sink in

BTW I have the Cushion Ur assests cushion given to me by a thoughtful online friend who couldn't use it. but I'm not sure what firmness it is.
Its does not work for me at this time,as it hurts to sit on it and I sink in a bit. Im hoping it will work if my condition improves through PT and exercises she gives me.
Anyway I know now there are various thickness types, to buy but not sure which one if is for me.

Any foam cushion advice appreciated..
Thanks!
