Re: anus/groins/penile neuralgia.

Post by Violet M »

Lots of guys who have pudendal neuralgia have pain with or following ejaculation. I have seen posts by other men who felt like their problems were related to frequent masturbation but who's to say whether that was the cause or whether there was some other underlying problem. I suspect there are many guys who engage in frequent masturbation who don't develop the type of pain you are describing.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Hi,
My problem started with bicycling then I re-injured my pudendal nerve by trying to massage it by sitting on a tennis ball. Bad move. I complicated the situation by sitting for hours on end at a computer writing a book. The first episode of pain came on like a prolonged shot of electricity. Absolutely excruciating. Not knowing what was going on, I went to the ER. Hydrocodone stifled the pain but the attending had no clue what was going on. I had three more attacks before I went to see my urologist. I had four ultrasounds over the course of six months which, of course, turned up no abnormalities. I then resorted to self diagnosis and found this site via google. I came to this site via Google. Everything seemed to fall into place. I will pass along things that have helped me.

1. converting to a combination stand up, sit down desk. I went whole hog with standing up but messed up my knees in the process. If you try this, my advice is, transition gradually.

2. I've purchased several cushions. By far the best is the oval Thera-seat cushion. very expensive at 94 dollars but it has worked wonders for me.

3. Best underwear I have found is the Jockey pouch fitted boxer. Much better than briefs.

4. Ditch the blue jeans. Too tight in the crotch area.

5. Don't get too confident that you have solved the problem.

Just this morning, I had two relatively small shock attacks while sitting at the computer. I finally decided two things brought them on. . First, My oval cushion had gotten turned around so the oval was not under my genital area which seems to be where the pnudendal nerve is bruised or entrapped. Second, I ditched the blue jeans. Even the relaxed fit style is much too tight in the crotch area. These two adjustments seem to have helped. I hope so. The episodes this morning convinced me that going three months with no pain was not an indication that my problem had been solved. One slip up, and bam...the shock treatment was back.
Perhaps my experience will some of you.
