As a highlight of Australian Pain Society's Annual Scientific meeting we held a consumer forum on pelvic pain.
More than 180 people attended and the day was a great success. Video footage will be uploaded asap.
I'm pleased to say that I was successful in receiving Govt. funding to print 5000 HOPE patient information brochures. I was able to submit 500 of them to the 3 day Pain Society Annual Meeting held here in Perth. Western Australia. So hopefully more doctors will take this on board and start to learn more about PN.
I recently came across this video footage created by Atara Schimmel . An excelllent resource for the education of Pudendal Neuralgia.
Dr. Assia Valovska....Massachusetts Pain Specialist nails it!!

PN started 2004 from fall. Surgery with Filler Nov. 2006, Dr. Campbell April 2007. Pain decreased by 85% in 2008 (rectal and sitting pain resolved completely), pain returned in 12/13. Pain reduced significantly beginning around 11/23.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Video uploaded to You tube so we can share.
Pelvic Pain discussion starts at around 2 hours into the video. (video goes for more than 3 hours.) The panel discussion at the end is interesting. Such a hot day so we all look kind of frazzled

Me on the news. They didn't exactly add much more information. I talked a lot more about PNE release surgery etc. but the news report was about Botox in particular.
Any media attention is better than none. We'll continue to chip away and slowly we'll see progress. Maybe not in my lifetime. I'm happy to see some progress at least.
