DES, you probably want to find out what kind of blocks the injections were so you can keep a record of what helps and what doesn't. Just glad you are feeling a bit better.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Thanks, Violet.. I had a follow-up the other day, but forgot to ask what the technical name for the injection is.. I go back for another follow-up in May, just to see if it's still working.. Doc G wanted to do another set if injections, but I said they were still working.. Makes a big difference to my happiness when I can sit flat..

Re: New To This Site and Hoping For Help...
Just wanted to pass out cake & balloons to everyone.. Today is the 4 year anniversary of my PGAD, & I have to say that while it's still there, it has become manageable & not as bothersome as it was even a year ago..
THERE IS HOPE.. IT CAN GET BETTER.. IT WILL GET BETTER.. I wish everyone could have the improvement in their pain that I have experienced..
Now, dig into that cake!!

So glad to hear you are continuing to improve, DES. Do you credit your improvement to the injections?

Re: New To This Site and Hoping For Help...
Thanks, Violet.. I never thought it would get better when it was at it's worst..
No, the injections are for my headache pain.. And my tailbone.. I guess I've just learned not to stress as much, & when I do get a flare-up, I've learned that stressing only makes it worse..
I'm currently into day three of a pain cycle.. I don't know if it's another yeast infection or that 'zappy' nerve pain I get from time to time.. I was already on probiotics to ward off the infection, so I've used some Canesten cream just in case.. If it's the nerve pain, it's annoying, but not as severe as it has been in the past..
I really wish everyone here could experience complete relief from their ailments, or at least enough improvement that they would see that all hope shouldn't be lost..
So, another piece of cake?

Sure DES, I'll take some cake -- with ice cream. Hope your flare-up has calmed down.

Re: New To This Site and Hoping For Help...
On Tuesday, I'm going for a nerve ablation in my neck, hoping it'll help my headache of 2 1/2 years.. They will do C4 through C7 (if they can get that last one), & if not, they'll do C4 through C6.. I'm really hoping it'll help my headache disappear completely or at least lessen it.. The last two nerve blocks I had done in my neck took the headache pain down to about half of what it had been, & even though that lasted only a day or so, it let me know we're starting to get on track..
My PGAD has been manageable.. Hasn't disappeared completely yet, & it flares up just before my period & when something stresses me, like this procedure on Tuesday.. I haven't had a pain cycle in a long time, & I'm very thankful for that.
My tailbone pain bothers me some, but it, too is manageable.. I get hip pain & leg pain when I stand for long periods of time, & tailbone pain when I sit for too long..
Hoping the nerve ablation will work for me & I'll have one less thing on my list that hurts..

DES, I hope your procedure is successful. It sounds like the headaches are the big issue for you right now so it will be great if you can get those under control.
Take care,
Violet

Re: New To This Site and Hoping For Help...
Thanks, Violet. The procedure helped for a few weeks, but I'm back to pre-procedure headache pain levels.. It took the pain down to about half of what it had been, & I was hopeful it'd last for more than a few weeks.. However, the docs had said it may not work at all, or it could last up to a year..
On Friday, I'm going to try acupuncture for the headache.. I'm terrified of needles, even though I'm diabetic & "should be" testing my glucose levels a few times a week.. Oh well, if it ends up helping some, I'll be grateful..
My PGAD has been almost non-existent for awhile now. I'll be interested to see if I get a flare-up before the acupuncture. My last few visits to the docs have been problem-free.. Wouldn't it be nice if it would just go away?
