Has anyone else suffered a pelvis trauma in the group?
I have pubic symphysis instability and SI Disfunction, with a left Piriformis that's now atrophied.
I have started PT and find this gives me an incredible flare in all symptoms. I have a bizarre Set of other visceral symptoms after the Pudendal nerve begins to fire, my abdomen distends and then I struggle to breathe. At this moment I feel completely debilitated and cannot move with the nerve pain and can't breathe. I have tried so hard to learn to except these moments but they are so overwhelming and I will loose control of my bowel and wet myself. All without control. This can happen any time of the day, anywhere.
I am based in Canada and am facing the problem of being based around like a hot potatoe! I am prepared to travel but am trying to work out if fixation of the pelvis will help to stabilize? I would be so happy to hear from anyone who has had a similar experience or any ideas. Or ideas of doctors to consider.
Thank you kindly
KJ
Pelvis trauma
Re: Pelvis trauma
KellyJane, I am so sorry to hear of your troubles.
Below is a link to the page that has the doctors listed by country.

There is a group on Facebook that has a forum called "SACRO-ILIAC JOINT SYNDROME / SI JOINT DYSFUNCTION - SIJD." I belonged to the group a long time ago and at that time there was a wealth of information going on between members. Might be something worth checking out.
Have you looked into Prolotherapy?

Re: Pelvis trauma
Hi KJ,
How long ago was your pelvic trauma? Have you been evaluated for cauda equina syndrome or for dysautonomia?
I had pelvic instability with SIJD and chronic ligament strain that developed over time from weightlifting. Prolotherapy helped some. My PT also had me try taping and an SI belt but those didn't seem to help much. After I had PNE surgery and the pain subsided I was able to focus on core strengthening. I wear a weight vest a couple of hours a day that helps with core strengthening but I really had to get the pain under control before I could do core strengthening exercises.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
