Hi Anne
I haven't been on this site much and just noticed your post.
Thanks for your encouragement!
Very kind of you..

Im still looking for a med to help with my anal pain..
Didaudid suppositories do help for a little while in my case, but they wear off quickly as one becomes tolerant..
Tried bella donna today and ti had no effect.
Anyone have a med that has been effective in achig throbbing anal pain could you please post..
I know there has to be a med out there that can help...
Thank you!

I am new to this forum and I know that this is 2 years after your initial question but I have PN with rectal pain and valium suppositories with baclofen 5mg/5mg or 10mg of valium have helped with the rectal pain.
Hope you read this.

Hi Ricki
Thx so much for posting this! I have been offline for several weeks, but just happened to come on tonight,
as I was wondering about using the valium/baclofen suppositories you mentioned above for my rectal pain and for a feeling of recta pressure (the feeling of having to have a BM, even I if don't really have to.
I was about to try mine but wasn't sure.
I assume you read my posts but just wondered: was your pain of the aching- throbbing and more constant type? Many folks seem to have passing spasms but mine is constant, starting when I'm on my feet and course preventing me from sitting. It recedes when lying down.

I will give it a try and see if it helps.
Thx so much for posting and for any info about your pain.
Best of luck,
Kathy

Hi
I have question folks...If one has constant throbbing rectal pain, could that be caused by or considered a muscle spasm? My new PT, whose opinion I really trust does feel that muscular spasm is a part of my pain. More proof ot this is that whenever Im angry fearful etc., I can feel my muscles tighten and then almost immediately more pain.
My other issue, which also relates to muscles, is that I sometimes have trouble fully emptying my bladder unless I push a bit. (gently)
I will empty my bladder but when done, I still feel like there's more to come. So in order to feel relief.. I stand there and push gently on belly sometimes for several minutes to get that last relieving drop out. This happens regularly and I have to 'go' again only minutes later. This has been going on for about 8 years but worsened recently. I bel
When I was about 18 I felt the above feeling to a very small degree, and started the gentle pushing to get that last drop out.
No big deal, it only took a minute but I did it for over 30 years..Then at age 49 the constant urge to pee began, and I was told I had either IC or pelvic floor dysfunction.. I think mostly the latter. It seems to me that all that gentle pushing over the years may have caused my pelvic floor to spasm..
Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on muscles spasms in my case?
Tho I feel my muscles are in spasm, I usually think of a muscle spasm as a sudden onset of pain, that lasts for a few minutes and then abates.
Thx so much!

Kathy,
All or at least most of my pain has been rectal more lately I have low back and other pain due to pelvic instability and being out of whack but my original pains that were rectal were pelvic muscle spasms that started as levitor ani that were not always constant but lasted longer until treated and then became more constant when PNE set in. It of course may not be everyting that is wrong but PT is probably on the money and hopefully can help you.
Janet
2007-08 pelvic muscles spasms treated by EGS. 6/27/10 sat too long on hard chair- spasms, EGS not work Botox help, cortisone shots in coccyx help, still pain, PT found PNE & sent me to Dr Marvel nerve blocks & MRN, TG left surgery 5/9/11. I have chronic bunion pain surgery at age 21. TG gave me back enough sitting to keep my job & join in some social activities. I wish the best to everyone! 2019 luck with orthotics from pedorthist & great PT allowing me to get off oxycodone.
