It is with great regret that I have to report that Karen Wiesner also known as KarenW from TIPNA and Pudendal.Info has passed away . I knew Karen for many years and we exchanged many emails and conversations via telephone whilst going through many medical interventions. I can only wish and hope that she is now finally at peace with her pain. I wish her family peace and calm at this stressful time which is very difficult. She was a wonderful person and had huge capabilities in the many forums which she helped out to provide assistance to others who suffered from pudendal nerve issues; unfortunately the historical information is not available.
God bless Karen may she sleep in peace and without pain forever.

Mod 4,
Thank you for sharing this with our community. I remember Karen's spunk and wit as well as her valuable contributions to the PN forums years ago. May she rest in peace.

Thank you so much for letting us know about Karen and giving us the opportunity to pay tributes to her. I remember her well, as a vital member of the TIPNA forum, always searching for answers, encouraging others, ready to respond to any questions I had for her. I'm deeply saddened by her passing. May she at last rest in peace.
Pudendal neuralgia, diagosed as ischial bursitis, from 1985. Worsened by fall in 2003. Bilateral TG surgery in Nantes 2004. Nerve flattened both sides. No improvement, still cannot sit.

This is such sad news. I can't believe Karen is gone. She must have been in such despair to possibly take her own life.
I didn't know Karen well, but what I did know of her, she was a real firecracker. She survived surgeries by Dr. Deborah Metzger and reached out to other women, encouraging them to fight back and report Metzger to the medical board. Her efforts helped the world to know what Metzger was doing with her negligent surgeries. Thanks to Karen, an untold number of women will never have to experience surgery, injury and pain caused by Metzger.
My thoughts are with Karen's family during such a difficult time.

Oh, Dear God, why does it have to come to this. Does anyone know how long she suffered with pn, or how old she was. ?
Surgery Jan.05 2011 TG with Dr Antalok. Dr.Chambi May of 2012 showed injury from a fall on back, 11 years ago. My piriformis muscle caused a large amount of fibrosis .My sciatic nerve was growing through the piriformis muscle which caused a bifid p.muscle. . Dr Chambi decompressed the sciatic, pudendal, pfcn ,and peroneal nerves. I hope to have a nuerostimulator put in to help with the sciatic pain that never goes away. Most days are better with the pudendal if I do not sit at all.

As I haven't posted for some time I'm only now reading this sad news.. It was Karen who gave me the information on Prof. Vancaillie & his physio. Sherin Jarvis here in Australia. She was the one who had knowledge of them carrying out a study into the use of Botox for pelvic pain. I remember her strength and encouragement to keep searching for answers. She was a great asset to these forums. Rest in peace Karen.

2004 PNE following vag. hysterectomy and A & P repair. 2007 TIR surgery France. severe entrapment at Alcocks canal & SS ligaments . Have my life back. 90% cured. No longer have medical appts.or physio. Some pain remains but is tolerable. 2012 Flew from Australia to the UK without pain flare. Very manageable. Almost back to normal. Now hold support group meetings at KEMH Subiaco Perth WA. Every 2nd Sat. of the month. Still pace my activities. PN doesn't dominate any more.
