Pn doc etc

Post by kathyd »

Hi,
Does anyone know of a very knoweledgeable PN doc in the NJ/ NYC or Philly area?

I was a patient of Dr Coadys'. She diagnosed possible PN. But to this day, I have doubts as to whether that's the cause of my pain ,for various reasons
Since she retired, there is no one I can think to see for diagnostic purposes. Any recommendations?

Also does anyone know of a Ob/Gyn in Central or North NJ that is PN aware?

I now see Dr Coadys's colleague, but the practice is very expensive..is out of network, plus an expensive drive to city with $$ parking, so hubby want to save money and stay local.
Is there a gyn that anyone knows of in NJ?

Thx for any info!

Hi Faith,
Its nice to hear from you! Thx for your good wishes.
Yes Im still looking for pain relief,, and based on my experience these opiod pain meds only seem to make things worse eventually.
I know I was doing much better at the time we met than I am now, tho I still am hopeful and as a Mom am still pretty active.

How are you feeling? Hope you have been able to make progress and find some pain relief. I read of your hip surgery, here on the boards
Hope all is getting better. Keep me posted!
Thanks for checking in.
Best Wishes!
Kathy

I do not know of anyone in NJ that specializes in PN. The International Pelvic Pain Society has a list of physicians that specialize in pelvic pain and you can find them by region. If you are interested in PN then last I knew you either need to go to NH to Dr. Conway or to Rochester, NY to either Dr. Carrillo or Dr. Benjamin-Pratt. The latter two physicians took over when Dr. Howard retired.
2/07 LAVH and TOT 7/07 TOT right side removed 9/07 IL, IH and GN neuropathy 11/07 PN - Dr. Howard
6/08 Obturator neuralgia - Dr. Conway 11/08 Disability, piriformis syndrome - Dr. Howard
4/09 Bilateral obturator decompression surgery, BLL RSD - Dr. Howard
9/10 Removed left side TOT, botox, re-evaluate obturator nerve - Dr. Hibner
2/11 LFCN and saphenous neuralgia - Dr. Dellon 2/11 MRI with Dr. Potter - confirmed entrapment
5/11 Right side TG - Dr. Hibner 2012 Left side TG - Dr. Hibner

Hi
Thx, yes as far as NJ- area the docs here tend to say you are "complicated" and refer you out to specialists in various fields... a merry go round that has gone for years.
Hard to believe that NYC does not have a true expert in this condition,

Thx for the info on the nearest possible PN docs
Best Wishes
Kathy
