Hi Susan
thx for all the info. Your oatmeal sounds good!
About lactulose haven't started it yet but my dose is. 15ml (2tbsps once to twice daily) so it sounds equivalent to yours..Im supposed to drink a glass of water with each tbsp... Do you take the water with it also?
I need to be more hydrated, for sure, but because I have painful bladder urge issues... I get more "urge" from drinking water ,bit of a catch 22, but I know the water will help in the long run!
They also rx'd Amitiza (which worked well for me a year ago) but nwo I have different meds so I m starting again that as well.
Thx also for telling me about your pain regimen. I hope that it is helping you and
that you are doing well.
thx for the good wishes!
Kathy

Re: Great seat cushion
Haven't checked the website on cushion but they sound similar to what I had an upholster make foe me. Had him take a piece of latex and hollow out a small cavity where i needed it. i tried different pieces of latex to find out the right density i needed and than had him upholster
them with a cover colored so as to blend in with my favorite chair. I used about four inches of latex. These homemade cushions have lasted me a half dozen years or more and still in perfect shape.

Re: Great seat cushion
Hi All:
I know we differ regarding which parts of our pudendal nerve or pelvis hurts, so some cushions may work well for some that may not work as well for others. I found a cushion about 5 months ago that has been pretty good for me--definitely not reducing my pain 100%, but probably by 50% or so. It is the Technogel cushion, and I first found it at my local Relax the Back store. I then bought a second one online from Relax the Back's online site, where it was a bit cheaper. Still expensive though at about $150! I am so glad I found this cushion because before this one, the other one I was using pretty much only reduced my pain by like 20%, if that.
Has anyone else tried this cushion, and if you have, what are your thoughts on this one vs. others you have tried? As much as it helps, I'm wondering if there is a cushion that might reduce my pain by more.

5/11: burning in all areas innervated by PN; self-diagnosed PN
5/11: pelvic floor PT (PT #1) did not help after 2 sessions; she gave up
12/11: Kalinkin MRI doesn't show anything significant
12/11: Consult with Hibner; agreed with PN diagnosis, likely due to tight pelvic muscles
12/11 - 12/13: Tried 4 other pelvic PTs - tbh, they weren't great - no results
1/14 - 11/15: pelvic PT with PT #6 (better results, feel about 30% better after 2.5 years of PT)
Related conditions: MPS, S.I dysfunction

''Hi everyone,
This is a reply to "Make it Stop."
About the Techogel cushion... I went on the Relax the back site and saw several Techno-gel cushions
The only one around 150.00 was a rectangularor square model...with the cover on it..then they showed it with the cover removed to show you the gel shape
I think it then had a curve to it on on side....was that the model you have?
Also as you mentioned everyones's pain locations and type of pain is different so we wont't know what will work until we try it..
Finding a cushion that works even for short periods would be great!
What type of sitting pain do you have? and if I may ask where is it located?
Mine was originally in sit bones and also the right side of perineal area.
Now it/s at the the anal opening and goes out to the area on either side.. so any way I sit, the pressure of contact induces the pain.
Anything that could lift my anal area or even my talibone up a bit or put less pressure on it , may help me to sit a bit with less pain or the" after pain".
There a Relax the Back shop nearby and I'd like to check it out.
Thx for any info about this cushion an thx for posting!

Re: Great seat cushion
Kathy,
So sorry for the delay of my reply! I'm not getting emailed when someone responds, so I'll have to look to see if there's an option for that.
Anyway, the technogel cushion I got is still on the website. It looks like it is listed at $159, and is the "seat pad" version - it is perfectly flat and perfectly square. There is also a travel version, which is cheaper, but I wouldn't get the travel version because the regular version is already barely wider than my hips when I sit on it, and my hips measure 36". I think when I bought my cushion online, I had gone to retailmenot.com to get a promo code for like free shipping or maybe a discount. You can browse to see if there's still a valid code on retailmenot. I've also gotten 10% discounts sometimes when I've bought products in the Relax the Back stores - I just ask to see if I can get a discount (or there will be a check-in discount on the Yelp app). So I got a 10% discount on my technogel cushion at the store, but it was marked up at the store.
I would guess that no matter what part of one's pelvis hurts, this cushion would help. It is soft enough to be gentle to the most sensitive areas, but at the same time, it doesn't compress very much when you sit on it. My sitting pain is basically everywhere - it is present along the entire pudendal nerve pathway, from the sacrum all the way to the clitoris; it is in the sit-bones, it is in the backs of my thighs (either connective tissue or central sensitization issue); my SI joints hurt; my pelvis is unstable; it is bad in the posterior part (rectum and coccyx area); the piriformis is awful - yeah, basically everywhere. I have myofascial trigger points and my fascia/connective tissue is bad in addition to the pudendal pain (actually, this is the supposed cause of my pudendal pain). This cushion has allowed me to be able to go out to eat and travel on planes. Has reduced pain by about 50% or so.
I heard that some one this site like the Wondergel cushion, and it looks somewhat similar to the Technogel but is cheaper, so I'm curious how it compares.
