New nerve stimulation treatment??

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has tried percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation. The lastest neuro I've seen wants to do this treatment and tells me it's effective for PN pain. He wants to try this in combination with Viagra (to increase blood flow) and Lyrica. I see this PTNS is used for interstitial cystitis with good effect but am weary of anything that is going to possibly cause irritation to the nerve.
Also I have no health insurance so will have to take out a loan for it - so the two things I most want to avoid are: worsening of my condition though this treatment and getting into a heap of debt!! (the cost is substantial) I'd really like some points of view to help me make my decision. Should I try it? Is it worth it? Has anyone had any BAD or adverse effects from it or worsening of symptoms.
