appointment for pudendal nerve block

Post by chrissy »

Hello
Just thought I would update. I saw dr Baranowski in london before Christmas. He was very good I felt he understood my problems. His impression was that there is muscle hyperalgesia and also pudendal neuralgia.
He plans to do a bilateral pudendal nerve block on a couple of occassions and then take matters forward as appropriate following that. I didnt ask at the time but does anyone know what this would mean? Ie what would be the next step???
I am also having an mri scan with gad beforehand

maybe he means pulsed radio frequency ablation ?????/
tiny bartholin infection triggered vulvar nerve pain.
Diagnosed vulvodynia Sept '13 (no burning but electric shocks, paresthesia, aching, buzzing)
Feb 14- Taking 50 mg Ami/Elavil
May 14-pain free with 50 mg Amitriptyline and 300 mg Pregabalin. Back to normal
Dec 15- weaned off all medication, pain free, wearing skinny jeans
April 17- pain returned, Amitriptyline 50 mg. Something doesn't make sense in my diagnosis.
Currently treating depression and anxiety
