electrode on pudendal nerve(s) neuromodulation

Post by david s. »

Kenneth Peters, M.D., at Beaumont Health Systems in Detroit, has performed 200 procedures of direct implantation of electrode(s) on pudendal nerve(s) for control of urinary, bowel and pain symptoms, via neuromodulation. (His surgical approach is via the buttocks, which differs from the L.I.O.N. procedure, performed in Switzerland by Dr. Possover, that has an abdominal approach to the pudendal nerve and also involves direct electrode implantation on the pudendal nerve.) The pulse generator is implanted in the upper buttock. He reports an 85% success rate in reducing symptoms at least 50%. Some patients (no percentage given in article I read) attain 80%-90% relief. I have contacted Dr. Peters and will report further developments.

Good luck with this, David. I posted the contact info for the Women's Urology Center in another thread but Dr. Peters told me he also sees men in his private office. Here is the contact info:

Comprehensive Urology
31157 Woodward Ave.
Royal Oak, MI 48073
Phone: 248-336-0123
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
