Thanks for this information, Catherine, I'm just about to look it up. I am wondering though, what was your pain level when the Norflex took it down to zero? The reason I ask is because I have noticed that many medications do help moderate pain, but when you are talking about severe, level 7 or 8, they barely touch the pain.
Glad to hear you are doing well.

Thanks for the reply, Catherine. It does look as if it is available in the USA. I might ask my pain clinic NP about this one since you have had such a good experience with it.

Re: Norflex Anti muscle spasm medication. Awesome
Sorry about the removal of my posts on Norflex.
The reason being is that my two pain specialists have warned me against the potential side effects of this drug. (My family GP prescribed it for me. I was the one who asked for it.)
Although rare, this drug has the potential to cause seizures, bladder dysfunction to the point of having NO function and severe anaphylaxis. The more common side effects are listed on the information sheet but upon further research it shows the more serious ones. My pain specialist has told me to stop it immediately and get back on the Lyrica. (Haven't had meds. for the past 6 months.) I Had botox yesterday and I'm back on 25 mg of Lyrica. (Lyrica doesn't have the nasty side effects)
My apologies for jumping the gun. I didn't know the risks until they were explained to me yesterday. So let this be a warning. Take Norflex at your own risk. I recently had a pain flare that didn't settle. Hence my reason for trying this medication. I'll stick with Lyrica and Botox if I ever need it again.

2004 PNE following vag. hysterectomy and A & P repair. 2007 TIR surgery France. severe entrapment at Alcocks canal & SS ligaments . Have my life back. 90% cured. No longer have medical appts.or physio. Some pain remains but is tolerable. 2012 Flew from Australia to the UK without pain flare. Very manageable. Almost back to normal. Now hold support group meetings at KEMH Subiaco Perth WA. Every 2nd Sat. of the month. Still pace my activities. PN doesn't dominate any more.

That's the pits Catherine -- finding a medication that helps but the side effects are scarier than the disease. Hope these other things you are trying will be effective.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Hi,
I have some of this stuff under the brand name of norgesic. My GP told me it was a muscle relaxant but not addictive like valium?
I have only used it occasionally when my base meds lyrica and endep don't cover my pain. It seemed to work pretty good for my severe pain flares.
