Hi,
Just wondering if any of Dr. Quesada's patients are still continuing their PM at Elliot Hospital? After his sad, unfortunate incident last fall, I received a phone call and letter from Elliot offering me services with another provider, but didn't take them up on it.
If you're not continuing your care at Elliot, where do you go, now?
Kind regards,
Karyn

Re: (Former) Dr. Quesada Patients
I have traveled (lying down with my wife driving) a few times a year for several years to see Eduardo Quesada, MD-- a trip of over four hours, each way. Two things that have helped at various times, which he did for me were Botox to the obturator internus and piriformis muscles and radiofrequency ablation/lesioning at the L-3 sympathetic ganglion (bi-laterally) and at the Ganglion of Impar.
I live approximately two hours from New York city. Dr. Alan Leff, in Manhattan, can do the Botox injections. Dr. Douglas Allen (also in Manhattan) can do radiofrequency ablation at the L-3 sympathetic ganglion. I have not yet seen Dr. Jonathon Kuo. From his website, it looks like he can do all the radiofrequency procedures I had received. He also does "pudendal nerve" blocks, but I do not know if this means just a short-lasting (several hours) block. At any rate, if his website is accurate, he knows anatomy very well, in terms of image-guided needle placement (as in fluoroscopy).
This should help NYC area people, but may be too far for others.

Hi,
I am fairly new to Chronic pain of Pudendal neuralgia. My pain developed 10 months ago following a simple bladder fill test. I have been to numerous OBGYNs and urogyn specialists with no diagnosis yet. I am currently working with Dr. Conway in Merrimack NH. He has referred me to Dr. Valovska at the Brigham & Womens for pain management. I just had my first nerve block last week. The pain clinic is a bit chaotic to be honest. It took me weeks to get answers to questions about my procedure. MY GP kindly provided me with the information about the procedure I was scheduled for and answered my questions. After my procedure, I got up and was directed to the changing room (outside recovery). While changing, I had a vagal reaction and was about to pass out, I had to literally stumble to the locked recovery room door and knock on the window for help. It was a scary feeling. While I definitely feel Dr. Valovska is competent, I am not impressed with the atmosphere and degree of attention in the clinic. It just felt like they were all too busy to attend to me (post procedure). hope this helps.
