How long did it take before you knew the outcome?
How long did it take before you knew the outcome?
For those who have had surgery and have determined whether it not it was successful: How long did it take before you knew? That is, if it was a success, how long was it before you knew you had improved (in comparison to before the surgery)?
Re: How long did it take before you knew the outcome?
I'd like to know from others the progression of improvement and changes by say month to month. For example by 3 months I had less...by 6 months I could do this.... I used less medication, I started X PT, things like that. I think this would really help keep the HOPE alive while going through recovery. I know everyone's progress will be slightly different, but this would be helpful within an 18 month period.

Probably 3-6 months I new it ws better than before as I could work more. The real success about a month or two ago when acupuncture got rid of the last major pain I plan to post in success once I am off Lyrica in another week and 1/2. I will have to get better data for you and maybe post tnat with the success like Laura suggested.
2007-08 pelvic muscles spasms treated by EGS. 6/27/10 sat too long on hard chair- spasms, EGS not work Botox help, cortisone shots in coccyx help, still pain, PT found PNE & sent me to Dr Marvel nerve blocks & MRN, TG left surgery 5/9/11. I have chronic bunion pain surgery at age 21. TG gave me back enough sitting to keep my job & join in some social activities. I wish the best to everyone! 2019 luck with orthotics from pedorthist & great PT allowing me to get off oxycodone.

I think the only places I know for sure were that he put needles around the scar in my buttock to loosen up the scar tiisue and the ones in my upper lip for the rectal pain. He was working on both the pudendal nerve problem and my bunion toe pains so I got needles in avariety of places also depending on whatever else was going on... things like my bladder pathway being stuck so needles in my smaller toes. Sorry just too much for me to sort out.

Hey folks, would you mind starting a new thread about acupuncture under "Other Therapies?" I have an important question about how long it takes to know the outcome of surgery, and I'd rather we not change the subject.

Dave,
Are you getting my PMs to you? I'm having trouble with email notices saying I have PM in inbox, but when I go there nothing!

One month post surgery and three weeks post operation to remove abscess:
-using less Tramadol (maybe 1 a day) but relying on my TENS a lot.
- rectal pain cyclical and reduced in nature and severity.
- walking 3-4 miles a day + trying to work out a little. Finding I do get tired easily though.
- able to drive with varying degrees of discomfort.
- intending to commence reducing the Pregabalin (600 mg per day) in about 2 weeks.
Starting to see "Green shoots".......maybe!!!!!

Bad week now, regressed at least 3 weeks! It seems to be the thing with PNE, more false dawns than sun rises :0(
