any issues with Lyrica withdrawal?

Post by janetm2 »

Hi everyone,
I am currently coming off my Fentanyl patch by taking 3 oxycodone 5 mg tablets a day and then 2, 1, to none. Afterwards maybe wait a week or two I want to get off Lyrica. I currently take 3 Lyrica 75mg tablets a day and wondered if anyone came off by just eliminating a pill for a few days the another, and then the last without withdrawal issues? Do I need to get 50mg pills to alleviate issues? I searched and KC17 only mentioned problems but not how much she was taking and I know others are at higher doses so hoping it might not be so bad for me? Any info would help since I am trying to go to work as mich as possible these days given I am still in many treatments that have me leaving early on leave without pay (LWOP)! All issues with this and my chronic foot pain that keep me from work I have chosen to take lwop to save my other leavefor a couple long weekend vacations amd saving in case I get entrapped again or any other major ailment like my Mom and brother had cancer. Brother had heart surgery, strokes (father too), and any other possibie ailment I cannot forsee. Thanks in advance for any input so I can plan for the withdrawal and try to make it less symptomatic.maybe getting off the meds will stop these wide awake at 1 in the morning sessions. I hope everyone is getting a good night rest.

Hi Janet

With regard to coming off pregabalin/Lyrica I would suggest coming down at 75mg per week. After my first surgery I came off pregabalin like this with no problems, but we are all different. If you have any difficulties then just take it slower, there are 25mg capsules available.

Calluna,
Wonderful to hear. I can always try like you and wait a week. I think I have forgotten pills now and then so I thought it may be possible and I know everyone is different but it helps to have some idea that a method works. Thank you for providing an answer to give me some peace of mind.
