What can I expect from first appointment with specialist?

i also have the feeling of something in the right side of my vagina - it is not nice is it and i wish it would go away.

I went to see Dr Greenslade privately last May at the Nuffield in Clifton Bristol - he charged £250 - I asked my GP to refer me as i felt that i had a nerve problem.

Dr Greenslade spoke to me for some time about my symptoms and explained clearly about nerve reactions and central sensitisation - he also tapped somewhere on my buttock and examined my vulva.

In my case he prescribed gabapentin to use in combination with the amitriptyline that i was already taking but took no other action but referred me back to my local pain clinic as he thought that the pain was localised to my vulva area.

I was seen under the NHS at the pain clinic and given a pudendal nerve block.

I have been told that the feeling of something in my vagina is tenderness at the Ischial spine.

Are you in the South West ? as the consultant at the my pain clinic has an interest in pelvic pain.

I am currently taking nortriptyline for pain relief but was given amitriptyline to begin with - nortrip has lesser side effects.

There is a large coffee place/bar in an old building at the top of Park street in Clifton next to the museum - a nice retreat before/after seeing Dr Greenslade.

edited this today as i forgot that it was Dr Greenslade who prescribed the gabapentin for me as it acts differently to amitriptyline.
