A-Z of pain - amusing

Post by Amanda »

A is for agony
Butt's burning boo-hoo
C is for cursing
Damn things i can't do

E is for eek
Frigging sure i'm on fire
Gee get a grip
Hell must be more dire

I is for ice
Just freeze it be jolly
K is for kicks
Love to lie on a lolly

M is for moaning
Nerve's niggling again
O is for ouch
Pudendal such a pain

Q is for quandary
Ruddy wish i could rest
S is for sitting
Too torturous to test

U is unrelenting
Vexation in vain
W is wanting
Xperts to xplain

Y is the yearning
Yes wait it will come
Z is the zone
Zero pain in the bum!
PNE started 2003 following Vaginal Hysterectomy, pelvic floor repair and right oophorectomy; eventually after many tests had BilateralTG surgery Nantes 2004; following this tried many other treatments including 7 day epidural, ketamin infusions to no avail; Trialed and was implanted with a Neurostimulator in 2007- Dr Van Buyten Belgium, this has enabled me to manage my pain much better.

Do you know the author of this, Amanda? It is brilliant!!
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

The poem was written by a daughter of a PN patient and her name was Jan
I used to correspond with her many years ago and luckilly had filed this poem as I found it very funny.

"Working Where The Sun Don't Shine" (The Colorectal Surgeon's Song)

We praise the colorectal surgeon
Misunderstood and much maligned
Slaving away in the heart of darkness
Working where the sun don't shine

Respect the colorectal surgeon
It's a calling few would crave
Lift up your hands and join us
Let's all do the finger wave

When it comes to spreading joy
There are many techniques
Some spread joy to the world
And others just spread cheeks
Some may think the cardiologist
Is their best friend
But the colorectal surgeon knows...
He'll get you in the end!

Why be a colorectal surgeon?
It's one of those mysterious things.
Is it because in that profession
There are always openings?

When I first met a colorectal surgeon
He did not quite understand;
I said, "Hey nice to meet you
But do you mind? We don't shake hands."

He sailed right through medical school
Because he was a whiz
Oh but he never thought of psychology
Though he read passages.
A doctor he wanted to be
For golf he loved to play,
But this is not quite what he meant...
By eighteen holes a day!

Praise the colorectal surgeon
Misunderstood and much maligned
Slaving away in the heart of darkness
Working where the sun don't shine!
