I would agree with you there. Having guided injections is vital.pianogal wrote: The key is getting the right amount of steroid for the right size scarring, and having CT guidance.
PT to break up scar tissue?
Re: PT to break up scar tissue?
Tried numerous medications as well as a long period of myofascial physical therapy combined with meditation/relaxation. My pelvic floor muscles are now normal and relaxed on exam ( confirmed by many Pelvic floor PTs) yet my pain remains the same. Also have intense leg pain. Deciding on next treatment.

Hey Charlie the therapist I use is called Paul Clinch ,he has been a Remedial Therapist for the Australian swim team for over 10 years .
The answer to the second part is he does not work on the nerve it self but he works on the surrounding tissue such as fascia, ligaments and muscle .

Re: PT to break up scar tissue?
Good luck with this treatment. The problem I would have with that is how much knowledge does a massage therapist (not a PT) have of nerve entrapement? If you have an entrapment the muscles will always become tight again.Aussie-m wrote:Hey Charlie the therapist I use is called Paul Clinch ,he has been a Remedial Therapist for the Australian swim team for over 10 years .

Hey Charlie The physiotherapists in Australia are not that good as i have found ,these massage therapists are on the Olympic team ,i have seen 2 so far and both have said the Olympic therapists go through a lot of physiotherapists as they are not good enough . You would have a higher standard of physiotherapy in USA , it's the therapists who have hands on who can feel the problems and can do extensive types of testing ,which become good therapists ,regardless of their title .
Re: PT to break up scar tissue?
Yeah just a update i have have had good success with the massage therapist on Olympic team , i am PNE pain free now yeah Ha , i am am going to post it on the success stories , been trying now for a while but get a bit long winded with the journey .He gets in breaks up the fibrous tissue and adhesion's the only massage therapist who did there job properly

That's great, Aussie! I would be interested to hear more about how they treated you. Did you have any internal work done?

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Re: PT to break up scar tissue?
Thanks Helen and Violet , I still need to condense my story / journey of PNE , I think I might try and keep it simple and just put the things we need to ask and check when we see doctors and therapists , as there are toooooo many horror stories to tell , and we need all our basis covered when we see these Doctors and therapists as I found there is a lot B.S. said by these people to promote themselves and just want our money , we all need to be smarter , but it is hard when we are in pain and on meds and learning about our condition .I will try and pass on some of the wisdom I have learnt , hopeing someone else’s journey will be shorter .
