Male: how Important are Erections. ?

Post by dbejeoBette3 »

This is in regards to Erections.

Whatever nerve damage i got.. I am not getting any erections. no spontaneuous ones and rearely morning/night ones.
I was reading somewhere that when men go long with no erections, they get no oxygen rich new blood so that causes damage or something( i forgot whata it said).
So in other words erections are healthy and necessary.

I dont get erections, but i do get erections if i force myself..by watching adult videos. However, due to my traumatic event and the whole deal that i have lost my normal sexual and urinary abilities, and that in Flaccid...i'm just feeling a bunch of tingling/burning

I dont even feel any good with any sexual stuff anymore. it's now just like something that is not for me since it just brings pains OR after i'm out of it, i'm in discomfort again..So what's the point?

But like i said, i can still have erections by adult videos. Should i force myself to have a few each day, even if I don't enjoy themm?
Like i said, they dont hurt. The erections don't hurt but once i'm out of them, i go back to feeling the nerve sensations that i hate.

I'm male age early 30s.
(no spontaneous erections, no night erections, no erections during day AT ALL, unless through porn)(ALSO when flaccid, the penis does not have any movement anymore..when i was normal it would be moving around and feeling the air)

I can somehow relate to your conditions. The amount of spontaneos erections is diminished, although sometimes I have them during the night.
I also avoid sex pretty much, because of terrible flare-up of the pain afterwards.
Agree that at least some amount of erections is healthy in order not to foster the atrophy of penile structure, cavernosal bodies etc,
Difficult to say, the most essentail is to have proper diagnosis.
And the role of PT is very important, many tingling/pain in the penis is refered pain from dysfunctional pelvic muscles, espacially ischiocavernosus and bulbocavernosus muscles.
summer 2009 - episodic post ejaculatory pain,
early 2010- major flare-up, chronification
february 2011 - ESCW wave. major flare-up, lasting 5 months
february 2012 - diagnosed CPPS with irritation of pudendal nerve, hypog. plexus block
june 2012 - dorsal nerve block, no relief
2013 - starting PT with moderate results
2014-2017 better periods interchanging with heavy flare ups
2018 first long remission (several months)
2019-2023 most of the time almost assymptomatic with cca 2 flare ups yearly

I have zero erections now during the day. Also zero erections sexually because i dont even do any sex or masturbation anymore cause it doesn't even feel good . But
i notice i do have erections at night.

i dont really know if my tingling/pain is refered from pelvic cmuslces though. Maybe i actualy have damage in the penile tissues but i also have alot of tingling in the scrotum, which i donot understand. i never got poked or hurt in the scrotum, so i dont know why i have tingling there.

Anyways,
so flyer28, are we all pretty much dead?

The pudendal nerve innervates part of the scrotum as well as the penis so if the PN is your problem that could explain why you are having problems with sensation in both areas.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

I'm not a man but I do have PN and I am sorry to hear about your sexual dysfunction. Some doctor wrote in his notes that I have a sexual dysfunction. I didn't like reading it. Mastrubating isn't easy. There is so much pausing I need to do with clit stimulation. I need to only use cold lube. The heat brings the pain. I do get some enjoyment out of it but the pleasure is mixed with pain. My vagina can't stand friction. My vagina and clit are just as dysfunctional as your penis. I guess we are all brothers and sisters in our sexual dysfunctions and pain. Truely, I sympathise with all of you.

Corpora cavernosa can become small over time if there are no erections?

What's that?
