Exercise after surgery

Post by Mahzi »

Hi I am mahzi and its been just 2 weekss since I had a redo surgery with Dr. Beco in Belgium due to scar tissues. He has gien me one glide exercise for the prevention of scar tissues coming back again does anyone know any more exercises I can do to prevent scar tissues and has anybody heard of any medication for the prevention of scar tissues coming back maybe some alternative medication like in aryuveda etc. I also read that Dr Conway asks his patients after surgery to do ankle pumps and heel slide can you guide me how to do them and also how do you do light stretching exercises.
Thanks

Mahzi, in the past people have posted about certain enzymes to prevent scar tissue but I don't think they are proven and I've never heard of them really helping anyone -- unfortunately. I think scar tissue is one of the biggest enemies of people with PN and as of yet I don't know of any proven prevention. Some people are having good luck getting rid of scar tissue, with ESWT from Dr. Andrew in Canada, but it would this would not be the right time for you to consider any treatment like that.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

Thanks Violet
I just keep praying scar tissues dont return. Anyways I am doing the exercise the doctor showed me. This time pain is more than my first surgery and he said it will be because it was a long and difficult surgery. I am returning back home on the 7th of May and dreading the flight back due to pain levels and its a long flight. By the way this time they gave me stockings to wear and injections for ten days to prevent varicose veins as after this surgery you may get varicose veins. He has told me to wear the stockings on the flight as well. Can you please tell me how to do light stretching exercise.
Thanks Mahzi

Mahzi, I'm not sure what stretching exercises would be safe for you right now. I think to be safe you could just continue with the exercises the physician told you to do, right?

Good luck with your flight back. Take plenty of pain medication and hopefully there will be some empty seats so you can lie down.

Take care,
