Hi there.
My appointment is 4/18 with Dr. Potter, is there anything I can ask for anyone? I am hoping to meet with her personally after the MRI, but there are no guarantees her staff has told me.
Debbie

Yes, I do plan on getting the disk, and I'll get a copy of the report from the ordering physician. I see her when I get back. I'll be sure to post what the impression was.
Thanks Karyn .... Happy Easter everyone!

Re: Going for Potter MRI soon, anything you want me to ask?
Hi, Debbie. That's so nice of you to offer to ask questions for us.
Dr. Potter worked with Dr. Kalinkan and Dr. Hibner in Phoeniz, AZ, and trained them on how to do the 3T MRI. Dr. Kalinkan seems to find less on her MRIs than Dr. Potter. This seemed to result in a lot of questioning of the diagnostic value of the 3T MRI.
1. Many of us who had 3T MRIs with Dr. Hibner are wondering if it would be worth going to NY to have it re-done with Dr. Potter. Could you ask if Dr. Potter thinks having an MRI re-done with her would be of any value?
2. We also wonder if Dr. Potter would be willing to read the results of the Arizona MRI for us. Would Dr. Potter think that would be of any value?
So many of us had the MRI in Arizona and nothing was found and we're desperate for anwers. It's unbelievably generous of you to offer to help us. Good luck with your appointment, Debbie!

Re: Going for Potter MRI soon, anything you want me to ask?
Hi Emily,
I have questions about their differences too... and I really hope I get to speak with her, but I have been told several times that she doesn't speak with patients, but I will be trying and posting when I get back.
Talk to you soon,
Debbie

Re: Going for Potter MRI soon, anything you want me to ask?
Emily,
I am one of the ones who had the 1.5 T MRI with Dr. Kalinkin in Phonenix and it was normal. I too have strong doubts about the accruacy of Dr. Potter's findings, however, I am going in May to see Dr. Potter and I will be sure to post my results. It will be interesting to see how the MRI findings differ. I understand that Dr. Kalinkin's MRI is not as powerful which is why she using contrast wher as Dr. Potter does not. I know Dr. Kalinkin does find entrapment occasionally, perhaps it is only if the patient is VERY entrapped in scar tissue? I've talked to several people recently who had the Potter MRI, but were unable to see her. She doesn't even answer questions by phone anymore and when I called and asked if she could review my Kalinkin MRI her assistant didn't even know who Dr. Kalinkin was and said that Dr. Potter will not look at outside MRIs. It's all very frustrating and I wish there was more radiologists who could see what Dr. Potter sees! All I understand is Dr. Hibner no longer holds in the MRI readings in high regards.

Avid tennis player and bicyclist, at one time a runner. Have worked out with weights. Currently coaching tennis. Onset PNE - 1996. Surgery with Dr Robert in Nantes - 2003. Little if any relief from surgery. Perhaps due to number of years of entrapment. Have tried every type of pain med available. Either can't tolerate or they work for a while and then quit working. Currently trying Nucynta and Oxycodone.
