I also got Persistant Genital Arousal and this is the most difficult to live with.
Thank you!
This makes me sooo confused,i live in Va,and after reading the post above got so discouraged! but was so hopeful with this other post...

He told me he had never treated anyone for this before, was shocked by everything I had gone through, and said he would give it a shot. He said that I would know in two weeks if it was going to work or not. We would decide then if he would continue treating me.
By the end of the first week, I felt a difference. I wasn't sure if it was in my head or what, but I liked it! Half way through the second week I had zero sitting pain. He told me to come back in a month for a check up.
Hard to believe I had underwent so many surgeries and pointless procedures. This Chiropractor was an old school one, Dr. Pickett of Bel Air, MD. Never even took an x ray. He just watched me walk, felt my back, folded me like a pretzel and cracked my hip. Aparently my hip wasn't aligned and that was trapping that nerve. Since completeing his treatment, I have discontinued all the medicines I was on (except birth control). Including Cymbalta, Percocet, Adderall (I'm ADHD too).
I feel great! I think it is definitley worth trying.
I live in VA,so was considering going to see this chiro, but now i don't know ..
i also have PN/PNE symptoms, and a misaligment on my left hip..please any advice?

Re: So confused...
Whether to see a chiro is hard to say because some people have good results and some don't. My chiro was not able to help me with PNE and after 3 treatments "fired" me because she didn't know what else to try. Some chiro's are gentle and some aren't. People have gotten serious injuries including one of my own family members who had a broken bone from a chiro treatment. You just have to go into it cautiously.

PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
Re: So confused...
I just went to a chiropractor yesterday (Keen Blaker, Baltimore) to see if he could fix my pelvic instability. I think it worked but will need time to see if it really will stay. He said to call in two days is I was not okay. He generally does things in one or two treatments and like the other mentioned he looked and evaluated then did adjustments, after that he looked at my paperwork. I tried this because my acupuncturist referred me and said it would not be 3 times a week forever and both he and the PTs I am seeing were having trouble getting me to stay aligned. Like Violet said you need to go cautiously. My husband was concerned but given the referral I felt I would be in good hands and not get worse. The Pelvic instability has also been a concern of mine since I cannot realign myself or got to PT and acupuncture weekly forever. I would expect to need a week or more to determine if it is a more long term fix since I throw it out weekly. I am being optomistic for a change land hope this works, I did manage an extra half hour work today at 7.5 hours per day I may get to 8 by my 1 year post op in May. I will try to do an update on this for you when the week or two goes by or I go out of whack. Take Care,
Janet

2007-08 pelvic muscles spasms treated by EGS. 6/27/10 sat too long on hard chair- spasms, EGS not work Botox help, cortisone shots in coccyx help, still pain, PT found PNE & sent me to Dr Marvel nerve blocks & MRN, TG left surgery 5/9/11. I have chronic bunion pain surgery at age 21. TG gave me back enough sitting to keep my job & join in some social activities. I wish the best to everyone! 2019 luck with orthotics from pedorthist & great PT allowing me to get off oxycodone.

Re: So confused...
Lola2,
The chiro said to call if I was not doing okay in two days. I wanted to wait because when I was put in alignment by either PT or acupuncture I would knock myself out again in a week or two. Actually for other things both PT and acupuncture helped and even for the alignment I was starting to hold a bit longer but just like everything else with recovery excruciatingly slow progress. I did not feel it was overly agressive but then I have never been to a chiro before and had some faith due to what the acupuncurist said and how he has helped me. I have been seeing the acupuncturist and PT for many months and they both help as I have progressed from going back to work 2 hours a day to 7.5 and being able to cook more. The acupunturist initiially put needles around my scar and broken up the scar tissue and PT was even amazed. Fyi keen does not take insurance but will provide a receipt with medical codes of what he did so you can submit yourself. He has a strange schedule and pricing which I believe is walkins from 5-7 am for $25 then appointments $55 from 7-11 or noon? Also some afternoon at his house? You need to make your own choice and I felt I was being guided and would not get hurt. The technique he uses is called Directional Non-Force Technique (DNFT) and he was trained at the Palmer institute in California in case you want to read about that.

Re: So confused...
Janetm2,
I would love my acupunturist to insert needles in my scar too ! but where will that be? In my rectum,or vagina? perinium? or around?
how does your acupunturist do that?
I will make an appointment with Keen Blaker too.It will be a 2 hour trip, but it might be worth it.
Thanks Janet.

Re: So confused...
Lola2,
The needles were in my butt since the TG surgery goes in from there so maybe it would not be the same if your scar is in a different place. I would not imagine needles in the places you mentioned! I hope the trip to Keen will be worth it. I did some cleaning in my closet this weekend which tends to be twisting and lifting and my alignment is still in place. Let me know how the chiro appointment goes, whether was too aggressive and if it helps or not..
thanks, janet

I did go yesterday,it was a weird experience,after a long trip there,almost three hours.
Ok this is what happended:
With my clothes and shoes on ,he examined me and said that I was A mess! and started adjusting me ,first my buttocks, lower spine and upper too, neck and shoulders,
you know the scariest part was when he went onto my lower belly and started doing this "massage" a bit painful and at the same time i liked it(did he do that to you?)
he moved my organs i can tell! ,my uterus, bladder and lower colon too, Jnaet how do you know you are adjusted? you can actually feel it? how so? .
I just can tell that today so far i have not pain in rectum,or vagina ,and lower back, neck and shoulders still in big pain tough.
So what it worth it? YES!!!
i will go again in maybe two or three weeks.

Re: So confused...
Lola2,
Guess I forgot he may say you are a mess since I was not (although warned). You did get a whole lot more than me. He just did my butt, lower back and shoulder (behind to fix carpal tunnel he said I had but did not know). He did some belly I think but not nearly what you said. How I felt better was the low back pain was gone and I now sit, stand and walk straight. It was so much firmer a setting than when PT would straighten my pelvis because I was still not easily sit stand and walk straight after PT. Now it actually seems like I cannot slouch. Great to hear some of your pain is gone. Maybe another trip for you will help other areas. Hang in there.
