Does anyone else have this problem? For me, it seemed to start around the same time I started having pudendal nerve symptoms.

small intestine bacterial overgrowth
Re: small intestine bacterial overgrowth
Did your doctor prescribe you anything like an antibiotic to kill the bacteria? I was thinking there are some treatments that can kill the bacteria in your stomach although it also kills the good bacteria. As a result you have to replenish the good bacteria in your stomach after the treatment.

Rachel - diagnosed in 2010 possibly as a result of labor, looking for short term medical insurance Texas that will cover me
Re: small intestine bacterial overgrowth
Hi Rachel. Thanks for the response. Yes, my doctor prescribed Flagyl to kill the bad bacteria. So we will see what happens. Fingers crossed because this has been so hard to deal with on top of everything else.
Re: small intestine bacterial overgrowth
I too have a problem with gastro bacterial issues, I take Losec daily to counteract the effects of anti inflammatory meds...but now that I no longer take them and only take other meds I have a big problem with what seems like a bacterial overgrowth. I take daily many supplements like Magnesium, Zinc and Vitamins ACand E...along with probiotics but yet the "yeasty" symptoms remain. Lately I have taken to a herbal remedy which seems to help, however my intake of food has been drastically changed to suit my acid responses...!!!
PNE started 2003 following Vaginal Hysterectomy, pelvic floor repair and right oophorectomy; eventually after many tests had BilateralTG surgery Nantes 2004; following this tried many other treatments including 7 day epidural, ketamin infusions to no avail; Trialed and was implanted with a Neurostimulator in 2007- Dr Van Buyten Belgium, this has enabled me to manage my pain much better.

Just a thought - nothing to do with bacterial overgrowth, sorry for going off topic - but for 'yeasty' issues, coconut oil is excellent. It is high in caprylic acid which has a very strong anti-fungal action. We buy it in a tub from Holland & Barrett and use it for cooking.
