Tarlov cysts and fracture of my sacrum.

Post by joylee »

Hello members,I had a fall 7 weeks ago, a catscan suggested tarlov cysts.
Next i had an MRI, which confirmed tarlov cysts, as well as a hairline fracture of my sacrum.
I dont know if i had these tarlov cysts before my fall or has happened from the fall.
I am still in pain, but not as severe.
Can any one please help with any information rgarding these cysts.
Yours sincerely joylee.

Athlete until pain started in 2001. Diagnosed with PN in Nov. 2010. Probable cause: 3 difficult labors, 5 pelvic surgeries for endometriosis, and undiagnosed hip injuries. 60% better after 3 rounds of shockwave therapy in Cornwall, Ontario (Dec - Feb/12). 99% better after bilateral hip scopes for FAI and labral tears (April and July/12). Pelvic pain life coach Lorraine Faendrich helped me overcome the mind/body connection to chronic pain: http://www.radiantlifedesign.com

If the tarlov cysts are at S2, 3, or 4 they could be pressing on the nerve roots that lead to the pudendal nerve and therefore can cause some of the same symptoms as pudendal neuralgia. But if you experienced a sacral injury it's also possible your SI joint and ligaments were affected and that your pelvis is out of alignment causing pressure to be put on the peripheral pudendal nerve.
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.
