If you ever decide to get nerve blocks make sure they are done with preservative free meds, lidocIne and marcaine are often used and both make preservative free formulas which are much easier on the nerves. I've spoken to Dr Wise several times he is a great guy.

Be well.

This is absolutely awful that the DA is not pressing charges! Can you do anything on your own with a personal injury attorney?

I am so sorry to hear about your friends and your long time boyfriend. It is so difficult to explain to individuals your problems esp. when they are so personal in nature. The only thing we can do is to try and educate people.

I am sending prayers and a hug your way. We are here to be your support.

What are your next treatment plan?
2/07 LAVH and TOT 7/07 TOT right side removed 9/07 IL, IH and GN neuropathy 11/07 PN - Dr. Howard
6/08 Obturator neuralgia - Dr. Conway 11/08 Disability, piriformis syndrome - Dr. Howard
4/09 Bilateral obturator decompression surgery, BLL RSD - Dr. Howard
9/10 Removed left side TOT, botox, re-evaluate obturator nerve - Dr. Hibner
2/11 LFCN and saphenous neuralgia - Dr. Dellon 2/11 MRI with Dr. Potter - confirmed entrapment
5/11 Right side TG - Dr. Hibner 2012 Left side TG - Dr. Hibner

Hoping, this is awful to hear.

Very important - what are they giving you for pain relief? You need to get that pain under control. Have you had the opportunity to try pregabalin (Lyrica) or gabapentin (Neurontin)? Apart from what the pain is doing to your quality of life, it is important not to let it go on too long or the pain gate can get 'stuck open'.

I don't know anything at all about the US legal system or medical system but there absolutely has to be a way forward, so that you can pay medical bills. Is there not any form of free medical care for those who cannot afford to pay for treatment?

Dear Hoping,

I'm sorry to hear that your pain symptoms are getting worse. Many of us have trouble walking. There is a thread about it if you use the "search" button above and type "trouble walking" or "hip pain".

I hope you can find a doctor near you who can help you with your medications. Drugs can make a world of difference in coping with this condition.

Please keep in touch and we will try to help you as much as we can.
Athlete until pain started in 2001. Diagnosed with PN in Nov. 2010. Probable cause: 3 difficult labors, 5 pelvic surgeries for endometriosis, and undiagnosed hip injuries. 60% better after 3 rounds of shockwave therapy in Cornwall, Ontario (Dec - Feb/12). 99% better after bilateral hip scopes for FAI and labral tears (April and July/12). Pelvic pain life coach Lorraine Faendrich helped me overcome the mind/body connection to chronic pain: http://www.radiantlifedesign.com

Hoping, I know one woman who had good results from Barral's technique although I have not spoken to her for quite awhile so I don't know if the relief was permanent. At the time I spoke with her I had not heard of neural manipulation -- just visceral manipulation. Is the therapy just painful during the session or is it painful for awhile afterward too?
PNE since 2002. Started from weightlifting. PNE surgery from Dr. Bautrant, Oct 2004. Pain now is usually a 0 and I can sit for hours on certain chairs. No longer take medication for PNE. Can work full time and do "The Firm" exercise program. 99% cured from PGAD. PNE surgery was right for me but it might not be for you. Do your research.

hoping wrote: Is the walking difficulty from the pudendal nerve then? Or is it a side effect? Basically, it now feels like when I move my right leg, it chafes and burns the right side of my crotch/genitals with every step. It seems I also get swollen on my right side crotch and labia.
I had difficulty walking due to pudendal nerve pain on one side -- sort of where the leg meets the thigh. PNE surgery has cured it so I'm assuming it was from the PN?
