MRI with Dr. Potter
Re: MRI with Dr. Potter
Thanks, Ali, for the warning. So was the trip in vain? By the looks of your history, she was still able to help you???
Re: MRI with Dr. Potter
I had to make two trips. The first one as far as the 3 Tesla of the MRI of the Pudendal Nerve was concerned,it worked great. The second was about the angiography of the Pudendal artery which she doesn't do and her MRI section told mr that it worked.
Take care,
Ali

Paulette,
What kind of hardware do you have in your pelvis ? The reason I ask is that I had a modified hip replacement (hip resurfacing - less metal involved) and I have always assumed that this would rule out any kind of MRI for me but maybe this is not the case. I would greatly appreciate any input that would clarify this question. If the 1.5 MRI is an option for me I would also sure like to know if Dr. Potter is the best choice for the 1.5 because she she can see something that Dr. Kalinkin cannot because of her special software. Looking forward to what info you get from her office.
Ali,
If you could pm me Dr. Potter's and her secretarie's e-mail as well, I would be very grateful.
Best Wishes,
Don

Nerve block (unguided) 9/10 Dr. Jerome Weiss - sciatica for 5 months but got numb in painful perineal/scrotal area - he diagnosed entrapment - but no more cortisone for me
Potter MRI 5/11 - rt STL entrapment of PN at Alcocks
Consult with Dr. Hibner Feb. 2012
Bilateral inguinal hernias diagnosed by dynamic ultrasound - surgery on 6/20/13
Feeling a little better, a few more months will tell

Re: MRI with Dr. Potter
donstore,
I e-mailed Dr. Potter, and she wrote back, saying that a 1.5 would work for me. I have titanium implants in my SI joint, and rods and screws in my spine. I will try to find Dr. Potter's e-mail, so you can write to her. I will send it in a pm.
You might be interested to know about Dr. Hal Martin in Oklahoma City. I know of a woman who had several MRI's done, including one by Dr. Potter. She took them all to Dr. Martin. He did a thorough examination, looked at the MRI's, and told her exactly where her pudendal nerve was entrapped. She thought she had piriformis syndrome. I don't think he does pudendal nerve decompression, but he is adept at reading MRI's and identifying pudendal nerve entrapment. I mailed him my 3T MRI that was done in Denver and a 1.5 that was done in Nebr. I am hoping he can identify the problem

Re: MRI with Dr. Potter
Paulette,
Let me know how it works out with Dr. Martin. I would be curious if there is an advantage in having him read the MRI in addition to Dr. Pottter reading her own MRI. She told me that the 1.5 would be best for me and that it is better to have it done by her rather than Dr. Kalinkin because she said that she has a lot of experience interpreting images around orthopedic appliances. I am currently trying to schedule with her. I would also like to know if Dr. Martin or anyone else found the 1.5 to be diagnostic in a patient with orthopedic implants.
Best Wishes,
Don
