Re: Did labral tear surgery reduce your PN/pelvic/perineal p

Hello all, All this coming to light about hip pain causing pelvic floor pain is amazing to me. I mean, we knew there were some missing pieces in the PN story, and this certainly seems like it might be one of them. Did anyone see Dr. Deborah Coady (GYN in New York City) in your hip journey? Would tha...

Ultrasound for treatment/therapy?

Anyone have a PT use ultrasound with him/her? My PT told me that ultrasound generates heat and can be healing to the nerve. So, she's using it as treatment. Anyone have any success with this?

Re: SAD

Lara, I know how depressing this condition can be; we all do. I'm sorry you've heard bad news from your PT. Just remember, even among the experts, there is so much unknown. I think it's important to listen to your body and your pain levels. If doing PT increases your pain, maybe you will want to bac...

Re: cortisone nerve block

It would be unusual in a radiologically guided injection to hit the actual nerve. The anesthetic or steroid injection is meant to go in the vicinity of the nerve and using CT or some other radiology, this should be possible. Botox is not a nerve block. Botox is injected into muscles that are felt to...

Re: Groin strain/labral tear?

I don't know, Faith. I don't know that much about SIJD. Another thing to read about!

OK -- after a quick search online, I don't think I have SIJD. My groin strain was really a muscle strain in my inner thigh, sore to touch and massage the adductors, pain with using the adductors, etc.

Groin strain/labral tear?

I will come back to the forum another day to do a search on these topics. I always forget to mention this part of my story: my pudendal neuralgia started while I had a left groin strain. I never figured out how the groin strain happened, but it started suddenly -- one day last fall I had pain in my ...

Re: Any dorsal nerve decompression successes?

A's mommy,

I do hope you are feeling better today; I know you've had a rough go of it lately. I read what you wrote about the neuroma found by Dr. Aszmann. I'm curious, was this seen on MRI? When was your MRI relative to the surgery?

Sending you best wishes for your continued recovery!

Re: cortisone nerve block

Hi Jackson, Search through posts under the forum heading "Nerve Blocks." Cortisone (same as "steroid") is often used in a nerve block along with an anesthetic (similar to novacaine). The anesthetic is to block the nerve and can serve the purpose of diagnosis -- in other words, if...

Re: Why would Botox make you worse?

Faith,

I'm sorry to hear about your worsened pain after Botox. How are you doing? Do Dr. Hibner's diazepam/baclofen vaginal suppositories help at all?
