Re: Piriformis Syndrome
I had a botox injection into my piriformis which allowed me to sit for 2 hrs. The botox wears off so now I am scheduled to have my piriformis removed by the surgeon who did my hip replacement. My surgery is next week, june 3. I found a second doctor here in Charlotte NC who has done about 100 pirifo...

Re: Cutting the piriformis
Quick update folks......So I had the botox injection into my piriformis on Dec 20th at John Hopkins. It was amazing how they could isolate that small muscle with the mri machine and then inject it with botox in several different places. I could see it on the screen as they ran me in and out of the s...

Re: Cutting the piriformis
April, I so glad that your are improving...sure beats the getting worse we sometimes see. And the healing process is slow for sure but to go almost a week pain free is great. Good for you!!! I tried to reduce my lyrica some and just a 50mg reduction resulted in pain increase....so I am staying at 30...

Cutting the piriformis
Greeting everyone. So here is an update from me. I do not have PN according to the doctors at Johns Hopkins. The mri guided pudendal nerve block with Dr Fritz did not relieve my sitting pain. However the ct guided block to the PFCN( posterior femoral cutaneous nerve) did take away some of the pain, ...

Re: Help; Need Root Canal, Can't Sit That Long
I would try to get the root canal doctor to do the procedure in two visits. I was able to get mine to do that and each visit was just less than one hour in the chair. I make my own ice and freeze my butt cheek with either a blue ice pack or thick ice. It can be done. I have had two crowns done and I...

Re: Erratic symptoms
Yes, sitting has a cumulative effect on me also so I try and avoid it altogether. I am fortunate to be retired so don't have to worry about a job but do need to run some errands so just try and do my short driving trips only once or twice a week if possible. Sometime I have to sit more than normal a...

Re: Prescription pain relief
I would try to get a referral from your primary care doc to a pain center. This PN can be extremely painful. Try to get your pain under control first then seek out treatment was what I was told to do. .. Lyrica helps me....the amitrip dose you are taking is a small starting dose....increase to 25mg ...
