Do any of you actually have cadaver ligaments in you?

I've read the studies, and know some of us are talking about this newer approach for those with earlier surgeries that were not fully successfull. I'm wondering if I can find and talk to an actual person who has a Achilles or Gracillis cadaver ligament in their bodies from a past surgery. I didn't k...

Re: Appeal everything

As you may know, appeals have 3 stages. Most know companies automatically deny claims the first 2 times I just lost round 1 of an appeal (I have won every other appeal I have fought). Cigna sent a written notice that I would be notified of round 2 of the appeal so I could be on the phone conference....

Get What is legally yours (Appeals Committee Review Meeting)

Cigna Health Care As you know, you have 3 tries to win an appeal for services. We also know insurance companies are instructed to turn us down the first 2 times in beleiving we will give up the fight for the money that is ours. Cigna always gave me my money on my first appeal. However, for the first...

Has anyone been on a liquid cocktail of pain meds?

Just saw a new doc and he wants me on a cocktail of opiods, non-opiods, nerve meds and muscle relaxers. I want to get off the meds and feel that I will be over medicated if I drink a cocktail since I only take meds as needed. I take Lyrica on a schedule, but pain meds and muscle relaxers are only ta...

Tricky wording can hurt you and ins. companies won't help yo

Remember PN and PNE are not common words and that is not what docs called our condition decades ago. When appealing look for ANY WORDS THAT SOUND LIKE PN even though PN wasn't used. Examples: menstral disorder, unspecified pelvic pain, burning, shooting pain, numbness, stabbing feeling, adhesions Yo...

Letters of Necessity

Insurnce companies require Letters of Neccessity to even consider an appeal on claims. All that means is they want a note on company letter head if possible stating what the doc saw and what they recommend as your next step. It can be a paragraph, but docs don't know this term so you may need to wri...

Re: Appeal everything

When changing insurance companies, make sure the new companie knows and lables you as permanantly disabled if that is what you are. Some companies use different forms and rules once you have a diagnosis of permanantly disabled but they don't tell you that. Call your ins. company often and talk to ma...

25% off medical costs

I just found this out and have done it twice in the last few months so it may work for you as well. First, I let my hospital send a bill to me 3 times without paying it. Then, I got a letter from a collection agency asking for the amount. Next, I called the collection agency and gave them a sob stor...

Personal nerve question

Mods if this is too personal feel free to take it down. I will be as careful as I can about the question. With the nerve blocks does anyone notice it is harder to (finish) when being intimate due to numbness? I know others have had numbness and feel that is the problem and don't know who else to ask...

Appeal everything

Before I was disabled I appealed every medication and procedure and won every time. Maybe not the first time it went through, but by the 3rd time I had won and got the money to pay the medical bills. Now that I am considered disabled, I am able to appeal more since there are special clauses for disa...
