Re: Expecting first baby with PN (super special lol)
No, it wasn't difficult to convince my OB to allow a c-section. Based on my medical history, concerns about making the problem worse with a vaginal delivery and the fact that he believes that women should have a choice regarding their deliveries made it very easy to have my choice respected :). Mary...

Re: Expecting first baby with PN (super special lol)
Oops...I forgot to say that there is no mesh used in c-sections at all. They simply take the baby out and the placenta etc. and then close you back up again. I was up and out grocery shopping 4 days after my c-section and healed very well with no impact on my PN or any of my health issues.

Re: Expecting first baby with PN (super special lol)
Hi! Yes, I went through a pregnancy with PN. I had PN for 7 years prior to my pregnancy. I gave birth via c-section 7 years ago after a pretty uneventful pregnancy other than issues relating to the pregnancy itself (cervical issues) and pelvic girdle pain (went away immediately after the delivery an...

Re: In Need of Guidance
Did you see my message above? OHIP has been known to cover the cost of the surgery. Several Canadians have had it paid for. That is another reason why Dr. Gordon is a good person to see as he has helped people fill out the forms to have it covered and he is the only "expert" in Canada. It ...

I don't know normally post here anymore but I saw that you are from Merrickville! I live in Ottawa but grew up in Oxford Mills. Anyway, have you had an assessment with a physical therapist to assess your pelvic floor? There is a fantastic lady named Caroline Allen in Ottawa who is PN aware and who t...

Re: Need info on how Dr. Potter's MRI differs from...
PS is right...I'm also a Canadian from Ontario :) I will be seeing Dr. Gordon later this year as he is really the only knowledgable neurologist in Canada with regards to any kind of pelvic pain. Granted, I'm doing a heck of a lot better than I was in December of last year (as in 95% better) but I re...

Re: DR HIBNER WONT OPERATE
I just read a few pages back and saw your response to something I said, Greg. I would think that a seasoned PNE person like you would understand how alignment issues (SIJD) and pelvic floor dysfunction can cause neuralgia as well as the various causes that Violet listed a page or so back in response...

Wasn't this thread originally about Missingmylife's situation and not about the on-going nonsense between Ali and Greg?

Re: DR HIBNER WONT OPERATE
Sorry, Paulette...I wish I could answer that question but I honestly don't know. I have not had surgery nor have I consulted with anyone for surgery so I'm not sure what an individual surgeon might do with the SS if no entrapment at that level can be seen...I suppose it depends on each individual's ...

Re: DR HIBNER WONT OPERATE
No, I wouldnt think it proves that you are entrapped...at most, it proves that the pudendal nerve is most likely involved in some way but people can have neuralgia from other causes than entrapment. Yes, the pain pump *would* causes numbness for anyone not just for those with pudendal symptoms (basi...
