Re: Does anyone's burning or flareup get worse after stretch
I had decompression surgery over 3 months ago, I just started PT. I did my stretches yesterday morning for the first time. With one particular stretch, I felt burning immediately. It lasted all day and is still going on.

Post surgery referred pain
Looking for a little feedback. Has anyone had referred pain on the opposite side after surgery? If so, how long did it last? I'm 12 weeks out and the opposite side still hurts. It's like the left side became entrapped after the right side was decompressed. Any ideas with this? TYIA.

After surgery forum
Is it possible to have an After Surgery Forum? It would make it easier to discuss issues, questions, helpful tips, etc. after someone has already been through surgery. Just a suggestion.

Re: Has anyone had surgery with Dr. Conway?
My entrapment was at the Ischial Spine.
I suppose everyone's plan of surgery is different based on where you feel pain. If you meet with him, he will explain what he thinks and how he will address your surgery. Plan on a 6" incision down your back side.

Re: Has anyone had surgery with Dr. Conway?
Hey Spider, did you ever get that surgery with Dr Conway? How are you doing? Yes, I had surgery 3/29. It's only been a couple of of months so I really can't say yet. The pain levels have been high and referred pain as well. He said it will take 6 months before I see improvement and up to 2 years fo...

Re: Post-op Instructions?
I agree with April that it's important to take things slowly and if something flares you up don't try it again for awhile. 15 years post-op I can hike all over the mountains near where I live but it took a few years to get to that point. Violet That's great news Violet! Thank you for the positive o...

Re: Post-op Instructions?
Glad that's helpful! Hiking may not be something you do for a while (or, at least, in my case I don't think I'll hike for many years if at all. I'm just in fear of the pn coming back.) Yes, I am still doing well. I generally do not need ice now (!). I think in the past week I only used it on one or...

Re: Post-op Instructions?
Once again, you have great info. How are you feeling April? Getting better everyday, I hope? Did your numb spot go away?
Wow, those instructions were written for me. The part where it says NO HIKING. I want to go hiking so much. Hoping I will be able this summer. So many mountains to conquer.

Post-op Instructions?
I understand different doctors have different post-op instructions, but I'm trying to prepare myself for what is to come, after surgery. Can anyone give me an idea of what your post-op instruction were? To me, it doesn't make since to get the instructions after the surgery and then be surprised by w...

Re: recent surgery
Could you explain why there is a heightened risk of falling. Do your muscles give out? Is it because of the meds?
