Re: New here/scheduled for Pudendal Nerve Block/scared
Hi Lily. I just thought I'd add my two cents worth here. I have vulvadynia that causes right-side vaginal burning. I've had two guided nerve blocks and a ganglion impar block. None of the blocks had any effect. None of them triggered a flare. I was neither better nor worse after any of the blocks. M...

Re: New Here
Hi Sarajoy. I also have vaginal burning. I use lidocaine cream. I'm currently using a 4% creme I bought online but I have previously used a 5% prescription version. The lidocaine helps numb the area that hurts. I recently tried a blend of prilocaine and lidocaine, which I got via a prescription. It ...

Re: New and desperate for help - please!
I thought I'd chime in here since I've had chronic back pain for many years. When my back problems were at their worst I could not sit or stand for more than 5 minutes at a time. My MRI did not indicate any abnormalities, just some mild disc degeneration. The doctors I saw could not explain why I wa...

Re: Chiropractors helping reduce pain.
I think you have to try out a variety of treatments for back and see what works. I went to a chiropractor soon after my back problems started. The massage he did helped but the adjustments did not. Another chiropractor I tried a few years later didn't help at all. I don't remember exactly what he di...

Re: Underwear
Underwear has been a major challenge for me for the last 19 years. I have chronic low back pain, and an area on my back just below my waist is very sensitive. Elastic waistbands drive me nuts. I also have vulvadynia and elastic around the legs is very uncomfortable. I have some very old Jockey under...

Re: Scoliosis and PN
I have scoliosis and have been diagnosed with vulvadynia. I've also had chronic back pain for 19 years. I don't know whether the scoliosis has anything to do with either problem. Until recently, I thought the curvature was only in my upper back. However, the last pain guy I saw said I have curvature...

Re: PN Effect on Family
Hi Konedog. I took my husband with me to a therapist that specializes in chronic pain. I was fortunate that my husband wanted to go. The therapy really helped him understand what my life was like with chronic pain. I had kept many of my feelings to myself as I didn't want to burden him. That just ma...

Re: Ongoing List of Doctors by State Who Diagnose/Treat PNE/
This isn't a specific doctor but Kaiser Permanente has a Chronic Pelvic Pain unit. I've had pelvic floor PT, local steroid injections and a ganglion impar block. Kaiser offers guided nerve blocks but I'd already had these under a previous health plan. Kaiser also has a separate Chronic Pain unit, wh...

Re: Constipation
I've had irritable bowel syndrome since I was about 14 (I'm now 60). I used to get alternating diarrhea and constipation, but now my main problem is the latter. I also have hemorrhoids that flare up now and then. Medications can really exacerbate my constipation problems. I recently reduced the amou...

Here is a link to an article about a study of PGAD in men. http://www.psas.nl/artikelen/mannen.pdf
Maybe you will find it helpful. It seems that PGAD is also called Restless Genital Syndrome.
