Re: Surgery Success Story
One last thing. I could also recommend trying to take a mind-body approach (start with a book by Dr. John Sarno, perhaps). This significantly helped me when I felt that I was not recovering from the surgery. Ideally I would have tried this before surgery as well. Thanks for posting about your succe...

Re: Nucynta ER (Tapentadol) so far so good
I took Kratom for several months a few years ago and it did help a lot with pain. However one day I tried taking my BP an hour or so after taking the Kratom and was shocked to see that it had spiked to 175 systolic when it's normally much lower.. Google it and check your BP and make sure you are hap...

Ivermectin research - nerve repair
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6210064/ There is some study of Ivermectin in relation to Covid 19, but this research looks at Ivermectin for nerve damage. Also see: https://relief.news/a-new-approach-to-alleviating-chronic-pain-from-nerve-damage/ "Upon activating the protein with ...

Has the Ativan helped your pain before? Valium helps too.

Re: Alone in the pain
I think this is very problematic. The first paper you quote Violet says that the smaller the sample size, the greater the chance of inaccuracy of the results, and you then quote two studies with very small sample sizes of about 10 people. The first study seems to refer to an improvement in psycholog...

Re: Alone in the pain
Actually Violet, I didn't say that PT can't help. I said it rarely helps. And "helps" could mean a range of outcomes, perhaps all temporary. Do you know of any studies that show PT has any kind of cure rate for PN/PNE? I understand that other therapies are lacking too, but this question is...

Re: Alone in the pain
I agree that rudeness is inappropriate. If you think Physio doesn't help, of course you can say so however. A problem is that many of us are grasping at straws in an effort to find pain relief that actually works. There is very little convincing hard evidence to support physio as effective for PN an...

Re: Very Large Husband Needs Extremely Thick Cushion
If sitting on a toilet seat helps his pain, I think this solution may be helpful for him. Try buying two Putnams four inch cushions and cut a toilet sized hole in each. Put one on top of the other and your husband could have the equivalent of sitting on a toilet seat. The cushions come with removabl...

Re: PN and driving
That's a very fair comment Voilet. My remarks relate only to the UK and what I know of the law and regulations here. We are obliged to tell the DVLA of any medical condition that could potentially affect our driving. Pain on sitting obviously could although you might argue it's a matter of opinion, ...

PN and driving
I decided to inform the DVLA of my condition with full details of my diagnosis, medication, and consultant's details. I thought that if they restricted my driving or banned me from driving I would have to accept it. I have also given my insurance company ( car ) relevant information. The result was ...
