Re: new with PN pain. What to do?
Hi bunny, welcome from me to. I am also in the UK and agree totally with what calluna and janet have said. Step no. one is to realise that you now have help from this forum and you are not alone in this. No. two is to get some better medication in place. The NICE guidelines that calluna posted above...

Re: new here, think i have PN
I wouldn't have thought that the spinal area that you have the rods would have any effect on genital numbness scope, unless there is evidence of cauda equina syndrome. The pudendal nerve which innervates the penis and scrotum comes from the sacral nerve roots S2,3 and 4. The other things to get chec...

Re: Pudendal Nerve re-growth?
Hi Smiler, Welcome to HOPE, You have had such an ordeal  Just to mention that you do have two pudendal nerves and branches, do you think that the problems you have had, has affected both sides? Can the surgeon give you any idea of what had to be removed and how much? This isn't something that...

Re: update diary after pn surgery
Thanks for this additional info Andrea, although I'm sure you are far happier about it. it's great to be able to add more doctors to the PN aware and then able to do something about it list!! Keep us informed and good luck.
Take care,
Helen

Re: I'm new here and I am really scared..
Hi Paper lantern. I can't really add anything to what Violet has already said, all good advise. Do you have any medication in place at the moment, obviously that would be a good place to start and help the pain (as well as ice if you have burning pain) I hope things calm down soon. As you are now pr...

Re: Block # 3 and more questions
From what I have read I think that 3 blocks is usually recommended, or at least the number used by doctors in an attempt to cure PN. Some dr's say that a good %age are cured this way. Unfortunately I don't think that anyone can say with any authority that your symptoms 'should be' anything different...

Re: PGAD - persistent genital arousal disorder
It does sound as if there is a degree of PGAD from your symptoms. A spontaneous orgasm isn't necessary to have PGAD. I would say that repeatedly 'unannounced,' completely 'unsolicited' arousal experienced, is probably PGAD especially when a pudendal nerve issue is suspected. I think sweetpea's phras...

Re: HELP WITH PAIN MEDS
Hi Andrea, Sorry you are having such a difficult time. It is such a shame that you can't tolerate lyrica, many people, including me, report good effects. I take it alongside cymbalta/duloxetine and tramadol and have found this works better than anything else. I did try lyrica ages ago and came strai...

Re: Amitriptyline and Lyrica memory effects
I take lyrica and duloxetine/cymbalta and definitely have memory and other brain fog issues although definitely not as bad as when on gabapentin. I couldn't say exactly which drug is responsible, maybe some % of both? but seems like the lyrica is coming out tops so far, doesn't it. I'm glad that you...

Re: TG Approach - glutes not cut
Excellent news about this type of surgery, thanks Violet and 'Patient'. I'm not sure that they would reach Alcocks canal either nyt. . . .but great for people with problems that are along or just above the gluteal fold. Trouble is that many people don't know exactly where the problem may be along th...
