Hi Tullson,
So sorry to hear that the surgery doesn't seem to have helped. It normally takes over a year for the full benefits of surgery to be felt, so you may still have considerable improvement. It takes nerves a long time to heal.
Take care,
April

Re: What medication has worked best for your PN pain?
Hi Bart, I think Lyrica and gabapentin are really similar---in fact, I thought they were almost same drug---so I would not try Lyrica, given your experience with gabapentin. I was on three medications at once for almost all three years (tramadol or a slightly stronger opioid, gabapentin, and either ...

Hi Sadie, I'm so very sorry to hear that those blocks seem to have given you pgad. I'm heartbroken for you. You are so strong through all of this. So sorry about the awful withdrawal too. I wouldn't have known even with web searching that it would have been better to switch off of the amitriptyline ...

Re: What medication has worked best for your PN pain?
Hi Bart, Opioids are the most effective at reducing the pain. I took the lowest dose of a tramadol once a day for about two years. Its efficacy wore off a bit so the pain doctor moved me up to a slightly stronger opioid, again at the lowest dose and only once a day, and I took that for about a year....

Re: Has anyone tried these?
Hi Wvgirl, So sorry about all you've been through. Glad you found the site! I've been on both nortriptyline and amitriptyline. As you probably know, they are similar. Both seemed to help with pain and with sleep (although a side effect for me was needing more sleep than I otherwise would). Since you...

Re: My health journey - looking for advice
Hi Lindsey, Welcome to forum. I'm so sorry to hear about all that you've been through. It sounds awful. Some of your symptoms definitely sound like pn (pain while sitting and discomfort with intercourse), but some of your other symptoms and signs seem different. I haven't heard about bladder retenti...

Re: update on my condition
Hi Capricorn,
Thanks for the update. I'm so glad you'll be getting more diagnostic information. It can be so relieving to at least get to a more official diagnosis.
Take care,
April

Re: Delayed pain?
Thanks for the update, Barre. This is a hard decision, but your decision to try this less invasive procedure makes sense, given the low risk. Let us know how it goes.
Take care,
April
