Re: Hoping for a life without pain

I was evaluated by in Fall 2013 by a therapist who thought my muscles were tight. Unfortunately stretching and trigger point injections didn't benefit me. Even with aggressive stretching I could not lengthen the muscle fibers.

Re: Hoping for a life without pain

I'm not even sure it's pudendal neuralgia. The diagnosis was made by my neurologist after he pricked the skin at several locations around my pelvis along with my history. What I don't understand is the range of symptoms and how they move around and vary throughout the day. Originally the pain starte...

Re: Hoping for a life without pain

Thought I'd do an update. It's been nearly 3 years and 5 months since my symptoms started. The sacrum nerve blocks in December had no effect other than to shrink my wallet. I'm unfortunately still dealing with constant pain with no end in sight and lost my job several months ago so now I'm without i...

Re: Scared, in pain...Also hello!

My symtpoms become worse after sex also with pretty much the exact same feeling a location. I think it's from over exerting the pelvic muscles during sex. Try with your partner on top or masturbating.

Re: Hoping for a life without pain

He's a pain specialist so I'm hoping he's experienced. I did see some information at some point from a provider suggesting the nerve's location can vary from person to person and even branch differently. I don't know the truth of it, but it sounded plausible to me considering my experience with meat...

Re: Hoping for a life without pain

I got nerve injections done on my lower lumbar and tailbone yesterday. Dr. didn't feel comfortable trying to hit the pudendal nerve since it's location varies from person to person. So far no benefit if not somewhat worse. Dr. said give it a week to see if the steroids work.

Re: Hoping for a life without pain

Thank you. I've set up an appointment with Dr. Ankur Khosla and Dr. William Yancey at
Gemini Pain & Spine Center in Houston, TX. The nurse was surprised I was travelling out of state
to visit them so guessing they don't get a lot of travelers?

Re: Hoping for a life without pain

Been a while since I last posted. I'm still dealing with my pain with not much luck getting it under control. Lyrica and Cymbalta didn't seem to work which doesn't justify they price continuing them. I'm trying gabapentin again, but doesn't appear it's help. They only them that helps partly in carba...

Re: Pain since age 15

Wow, sorry to hear how long you've suffered. Have any narcotics helped? Have you tried Lyrica?

Re: Hoping for a life without pain

Cymbalta doesn't appear to be helping so thinking about my next steps. I'm currently taking 300mg of Lyrica twice a day; Wonder if I can increase that. Reading through the forums and some published papers I figure I'll ask to try Valium next and see about either getting a pudendal nerve block or 3T ...
