Re: Unexpected Urgency
I experienced this and over the years learned some control over it. It used to be that the very act of walking or sitting provoked the levator ani to give the sensation of needing a bm. But the pushing would lead to a vicious cycle. My pt told me to use the action of dropping the pelvic floor for bm...

Re: Longtime Lurker, First time Poster
Hi I don’t visit here much anymore but read your story with interest. My pain came on suddenly on the left side, the same side as my SI damage. So I know it is it mechanical. Did u ever investigate the stress fracture cause? I assume you were postmenopausal and wondered about osteoporosis. It sounds...

Re: Can someone give me there expert opinion on my case plea
I'm 3 years in from starting my journey with this PN pain. I didn't really start to improve until last summer when my pelvic pt mixed internal work with strengthening my glutes and hamstrings. I had SI pain for a few years before and they diagnosed a ligament strain. So I think you may improve with ...

Re: Introduction, possible PNE
I hope you find a root cause and can eliminate your pain. Your mention of the piriformis is interesting. my pt also said my pelvis was twisted and gave me such exercises. but what has really helped me over the last two years is trying to strengthen the muscles in my left hip . i see a pelvic therapi...

Hi Ashley, I am so sorry for your loss and that you have this pain on top of that. Hang in there until you see the physical therapist. I have been seeing a pelvic therapist off and on for a year and a half and have improved, with less pain after bm, no pain with urination, and better sitting toleran...

Re: Femoral Acetabular Impingement (FAI) and Pudendal Nerve
I think overall the external pt has done more for me than the pelvic floor therapy.
I go to the pelvic pt but I often have better relief from having her work on my si joint,
Piriformis and hamstrings.

Advice on incontinence
Hi I have what I believe is PN since fall 2014. I am pretty sure this due to lifting after being predisposed thru bad posture and SI joint dysfunction. I noticed numbness in my urethra when biking that summer then later had a stabbing pain in my left sitbone after sitting for a long time. I tried mu...

Hi i saw info about these on a coccyx pain support group and looked it up. I have been trying to find someone to do a sit stand xray on me to see if my coccyx is angulated but i would be willing to sit through an mri if it would reveal the real source of my rectal and sitting pain.. http://www.uprig...

Re: New user (with questions)
Hi Yes the rectal pain can be the nerve but if there is still blood it seems like there may still be some damage that your body hasn't healed yet. Are the hemorrhoids internal? My pain has been primarily rectal plus sitting but I know it was from lifting. Do you get any relief from NSAIDs, heat, ice...
