Re: autoimmunity and PN

I have a history of non-specific auto immune arthritis. Started with arthritis in the thumb in 2002. Went away after 6 months, but during that time saw a very world renown rheumatologist who said I had inflammation in my sacroiliac joints. Fast forward to 2007, severe SI issues - no help with PT - D...

Re: Nerve blocks S2-S4

My last pain doc gave me injections at S2-S4 and also pudendal nerve blocks at the same time - claimed he had success before with it. Not only did it not even numb my pudendal pain (made it much worse for about 6 weeks), I also found out he injected me with a steroid that can permanently damage nerv...

Re: Why your doctor may seem detached

I can understand this completely. I'm in HR - I get so many calls from people needing jobs, looking for jobs, agencies trying to get our business, employees filing for disability, being mistreated by their managers, etc., etc. After a while, if you continue to feel, you can't function in your job an...

Re: Drawing of my Pain

Mulan, that is exactly where my pain is. It will be interesting to see if our MRI's are similar.

Re: PNE Ironman athlete

Celeste - for me - I'm biding time. My next step is my visit with Dr. Hibner in June. If this is not fruitful, then I will probably trek up to Canada and have the shockwave. If that is not successful - I might consider Dellon (finances permitting). If these don't pan out, maybe neuromodulation, mayb...

Re: What causes scar tissue?

Hi Manon, I agree - the MRI might not tell all of the story, but it has to be correlated with pain. In my case, It does correlate. I've had Bartholin cysts, too, but it was quite some time ago, and had no relation to my PN. It actually resolved on it's own, I didn't have it excised. Re: sitting caus...

Re: How does weight lifting affect the pudendal nerve?

As far as the question of weightlifting and PN/PNE goes, I would be surprised if weightlifting, over a sustained period of time, didn't cause PN/PNE problems for some because of the "baring down" or incorrect tensing of abdominal muscles leading to an increase in intra-abdominal pressure ...

Sub-Clinical PN?

Just a random thought - wonder how common PN actually is? So many of us seem to fit in the category of having symptoms for years that might be PN related - the list is endless - erectile dysfunction, urinary urgency/frequency/stress incontinence, rectal pain not related to hemorroids or rectal patho...

Re: PNE Ironman athlete

PS: "if a person is unable to continue doing the things they're most passionate about in life, how 'cured' are they really?" But when someone posts an article that puts forth a new idea about this condition, people are quick to exhibit the exact same behaviour ...ie. brushing it off w.out ...

Re: PNE Ironman athlete

How could anyone cycle in 5/10 pain??? Pain is relative - especially with hardcore athletes. There are a lot of injuries professional sports (or even hardcore recreational sports) people deal with that would put many sedentary people on the sofa. I have a friend who pops pain pills by the handful -...
