Re: Tarlov's Cysts
I dont remember when was the last time I posted here. Some updates.. I have been completely disabled and bedridden for 3 years now and looked after by my aging parents. No treatment was on until 6months ago when some of my relatives took the initiative. Current diagnosis include A large arachnoid cy...

Re: Can weight loss cause pn?
Is it possible that loss of cushioning (around the butt region due to loss of weight) can put more pressure on the nerve and induce PN in susceptible persons? Most of us feel better sitting on a cushion isn't it - so loss of natural cushion can be bad for some people? I personally feel more nerve pa...

Re: Greg T going to grad school
Hi friends, More strength to those attempting to study or work against heavy odds. I have been working part time from home since 2004 since that is the only way I would have found work. I can't sit for more than 15min at a time, so I alternate between sitting, standing and recumbent postures at work...

Re: PN Effect on Family
I don't believe my family (my parents) understand my problems well. They know I am unwell and I know they care very much but they don't really understand how hard life has been for me over the past twenty five years or so. It is very difficult to understand chronic illness without being a part of it...

Re: CAN SEXUAL ACTIVITY CAUSE PN??-help!!
About one year ago, I had a minor fall near my bed and some how I consciously managed to land on the bed on one side of my bum instead of the perinneal region. It still threw me into a bad flare for a month, but later recovered to "normal" after that.

Re: Strange pinching sensation
I don't have major pain in the region described by you (unless I am sitting for a while), but it hurts badly if I press along the length of the dorsal nerve and goes all the way into the perenium. This seems to be a classical PN/PNE symptom (tinel sign) and this was one of my earliest symptoms that ...

Yoga is good for many health issues, but if you have entrapped nerves, then yoga (even if you do correctly) may aggravate them.Ivery wrote:Yoga improves your flexibility

Re: Surgical/injury causes v "unknown" causes
Personally, I think it's the "perfect storm scenario" for sufferers without an obvious cause: 1) Anatomical predisposition (long torso or ischial spine causing more tension on the ligaments, narrow nerve tunnels) 2) History of high activity (cycling, sports, weight lifting) 3) An injury (...

Re: Standing makes things worse?
I don't usually experience much pain during standing. But standing for a long time can bring on severe pain afterwards. With sitting, the option for sitting for long periods isn't simply there as the pain can quickly escalate through the roof. During early stages of nerve entrapment, symptoms are us...
