Re: Clear passage in Gainesville Fl
I just want to add that Clear Passage was covered by my health insurance - Florida Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Clear Passage does provide you with the statements to submit yourself. They are a small clinic and that is not uncommon for small PT clinics. They charge the exact same rates that I was pay...

Re: Has PT REALLY helped anyone?
I am certain I would not have gotten better without PT. I have had to see multiple people, all with different skill sets and varying levels of expertise. Had I only seen one or two, I know I would not have gotten better. One thing that contributed to my vaginal burning, was not PN related. It was ca...

Re: Clear passage in Gainesville Fl
I live in the Gainesville area. I developed PN while undergoing Pelvic PT at the University of Florida in2012 for coccyx pain. Continued PT there made me worse so I sought out Clear Passage. Kim was my primary therapist there. They do not specialize in treating PN but we're able to help me. After ab...

Re: Lyrica/Cymbalta
Hi Jax, That is great that you found a combo that worked for you. I was started on Cymbalta last month but it made my heart race, so had to stop it after a week. I dropped 10 pounds during the week I was on it, so I understand what you mean about weight loss! I have been on Lyrica for almost 4 weeks...

Re: Study for Women with Chronic Pelvic Pain
I think the idea of a registry is great and have sent an e-mail to my state's coordinator in the hopes of participating. I was dx'd with vulvodynia a few weeks ago but suspect PN. The GYN who diagnosed me knows nothing about PN so he basically diagnosed me based on his limited knowledge base. I boug...

Re: newbie-scared in need of advice
hi Violet, The articles are from back issues of the NVA's newsletter which are available to NVA members -I paid $65 to join and gain access. They ask that the newsletters/articles not be distributed for public access as I guess that is how they generate funds to keep their organization going, so I w...

Re: newbie-scared in need of advice
Thanks Violet. It is through this website and the National Vulvodynia Association's site (which has some great newsletter articles on PN) that I have been able to educate myself and am truly grateful for the info that you and others who are farther along in their journey are willing to share! Withou...

Re: newbie-scared in need of advice
thanks Violet! Helen, I got a donut cushion and it allows me to sit for short periods and short car rides. Thanks for the advice! here is an update- MRI was a regular MRI to rule out other possible causes of pain and it came back negative. I had to stop the Cymbalta a week ago due to it causing my h...

Thanks Helen. Great advice! The blocks they do here are guided but I don't know much more than that. Will keep you posted
